Although HIV would not normally be the first thing to be looking to in order to explain tonsillitis, tonsillitis (or symptoms similar to tonsillitis) can be a symptom of either seroconversion illness (the mild flu-like illness that some people suffer when their immune system starts producing HIV antibodies), or a sign of advanced HIV infection weakening the immune system. Tonsillitis is however a fairly common type of infection, so even if you think you have acquired it through intimate contact, the likelihood is that it will be some other sort of infection (or even an STD). If you are in any doubt you really should seek medical advice.

Thrush means any of the Candida species fungal infection (Yeast infection - mycosis).

If it is oral thrush or vaginitis then it is quite common and can be cleared with normal creams or prescription medicines.

However, if you are a severely immunocompromised person then it could be more serious, a trip to the doctors is in order as severe cases of "thrush" could mean something severe.

If in doubt, don't take this as an answer, go see your doctor - that is what they are there for.

No correlation exists between thrush and HIV. Thrush is a fungus normally found in people's mouths. Most of the world's people have the thrush fungus in their mouths. It usually remains at a low level. The human immune system generally keeps it in check. Every now and then it can get out of hand. A weakened immune system can cause problems.

If you have thrush and think you may have HIV, then get tested. Thrush is treatable. HIV is treatable. No reason exists to remain seated writing these questions when medical help is available.

No. Thrush is a fungal infection unrelated to HIV. While persons with full blown AIDS may also have thrush it is not because they have HIV.

The yeast infection cause HIV?

Yeast infections do not cause HIV. At least not by themselves. They may however make you more susceptible to it if exposed; but you would still need to actually be exposed to the HIV to get the HIV; the yeast infection would not be the cause of it. When your body is exposed to HIV it might not enter the bloodstream, it may get washed away. With a yeast infection that has open sores, these open sores are extra areas where the HIV could more easily enter the body. Also note that once you have HIV; if your immune system begins to shut down you would become more susceptible to yeast infections because your body would have a harder time fighting them. So HIV can lead to more yeast infections and yeast infections can help facilitate the exposure of HIV; but neither directly causes the other.

Why do you get sores on your arms from a yeast infection?

The yeast Candidida is the cause of "yeast" infections. It causes localized inflammation of the skin. This is why you get the sores. A good treatment is to use plain yoghurt on the area. Women frequently get yeast infections in the vagina and one of my preferred prescriptions is to have them dip a tampon in plain live yoghurt and insert it into the vagina. More often that not, this provides them with a total cure. Consuming too much vinegar can lead to yeast infections, as can infection with the HIV virus.

You were treated for a yeast infection twice last year but symptoms never seemed to go away Do you have an extreme change of having HIV?

No, a yeast infection is caused by a fungi, HIV is a virus. Unless you were in contact with a partner who is infected with the virus NO. However, yeast infections can be decreased if you always clean your self from the front to the back. Never wipe from the back (anal area to the front) Also wearing cotton under garments and wearing loose fitting garments that keep your peri area from being moist helps Yeast infections are also comman if you have uncontroled diabetes.
