You are no more likely to die of the flu with Fibromyalgia than you are without it. However, because those with Fibromyalgia often have weakened immune systems, they are more susceptible to getting the flu.

The primary symptoms of Fibromyalgia are pain and fatigue. It is currently considered a syndrome (or grouping of symptoms) and is not considered a disease. Fibromyalgia, itself, will not kill you. However, many Fibromyalgia patients find that because they get used to living in chronic pain they ignore new symptoms, thinking that they are just a new manifestation of Fibromyalgia, when, in fact, they are actually symptoms of a new or worsening condition. Those new conditions could be life threatening.
