Yes, urine can be stored in the fridge before lab testing. In fact, urine is always supposed to be stored in cooler temperatures for testing. This prevents the growth of bacteria in the urine.

2 weeks in the fridge and a year in the freezer. If it is left out it only lasts a day or so before it starts to smell like ammonia.
It is difficult to get an accurate reading from urine that is two weeks old depending on the type of testing accomplished. In a 24 hour urine study, the urine must be fresh and refrigerated. Often, after a week, the urine will begin to grow bacteria colonies that obscure testing results.
That urine will not be used for testing. Urine has to be stored in a fridge and only for a few hours or they can not use it. They will be able to tell it's old.
In the bladder. Or if that's the question: Urine samples should be stored in the fridge if they can't get analysed immediatly.
Bladder
If properly sealed and stored, urine samples are good for testing up to 24 hours after the sample given. The urine sample should be in a sterile container within a sealed plastic bag and stored in a refrigerator.
By storing your HcG, you should cover it over in a cup and place it in the fridge. When you want to use the test, take it out of the fridge and let it warm to room temperature before testing. BUT.. you can't use this urine after 7 hours of storage as the HcG in your urine will begin to break down. Keeping it in the fridge gives you a little more time, but eventually it becomes undetectable.
Urine, when stored in an air tight container, free from contamination and help under constant specified temperature can be used for drug testing over a lengthy time period. Frozen urine can be kept indefinitely for testing.
Everyone is different regarding how long they can hold their urine in their body. However, in order to prevent UTI's, bladder infections, and bladder problems, it is best to use the restroom as soon as you feel the need to.Ê

depends what you mean by fresh. If you mean no bug growth then it also depends on the preservatives. No preservatives, less than 24 hours. with boric acid preservative, maybe a weekend. If you mean the substances tested in the urine. e.g. glucose, bence Jones protein etc, then it depends on what the test is for. The fresher the sample, the more accurate the result
Your urine was presumably stored at approximately 98.6 degrees before you put the sample in the cup. If the temperature is significantly lower, you probably stored the urine somewhere other than your bladder before you provided the sample.
