There are a number of reasons that we couldn't live on Neptune. First, Neptune is what is called a gas giant (or ice giant, if you prefer). The tiny core of solid material is many miles deep in the atmosphere. The pressure there would crush us; it's millions of times that on the surface of the earth. Also, the atmosphere is primarily hydrogen, helium, methane, ammonia and water. That's not something we can breathe. Neptune is the "windiest" planet we know of with air movement of over 2000 kilometers per hour in some places. In the clouds, it's below -200 °C, and on the tiny rocky core, it's over 5,000 °C. Neither of those extremes is "comfortable" by any stretch. A link can be found below for more information.

No.

Discounting other factors, the surface temperature of Neptune ranges from -201 degrees Celsius to -218 degrees Celsius. The lowest recorded temperature on Earth was -89 degrees Celsius.

No. It is impossible for anything to survive on Neptune for the following reasons:

  • Neptune is freezing. Too freezing to support life
  • There is very little sunlight, which means plants can't grow. No plants means no breathable air or food
  • Neptune is a gas giant. Meaning it has no solid surface. If anything stands on Neptune, it will sink into the planet and be incinerated by the molten ammonia core
  • Neptune is very stormy. Life would be blown off into space
  • The gasses on Neptune are considered poisonous to life

No, Neptune is too cold. It’s temperature is about -200 to -215 Celsius. We would be lucky to build settlements on Neptune’s moon Triton.

Neptune, in the first place, is an environment hostile to human; in fact, no other places in the solar system that can harbor life, so far. It is not in a habitable zone.

No. Even if you could find a way to survive the cold and the lack of oxygen, there is no solid surface.
