Their are lots of users who are 12 that are on Facebook. Facebook requires for you to sign-up as your date of birth as if you were 13. Nothing will really happen to your account if you sign-up as if you are 13, and they figure out that you are 12, because their are already millions of users on Facebook that are under the age of 13.
In the United States, Federal law prevents anyone under the age of 13 to post any personal information on the internet.
Many websites, especially ones of which that contain P2P contact, file sharing or sites where you share personal information, claim to have a "16+ Policy" This means only people over the age of 16 can use the site, although many people ignore this policy. Many people under the age of 16 still use myspace, facebook, bebo etc without any trouble. So yes really you ARE allowed to use it, without any problems. Unless of course your parents have any problem with it. I had a myspace when I was twelve, which, in my opinion, is worse, but my parents could see my profile anytime they wanted and they had to approve my friends. I guess it's whether you are responsible enough for it. :)
Technically, a ten-year-old cannot have a Facebook according to Facebook's Terms and Conditions, which you agree to by signing up. Section 4.5 of the Terms and Conditions states that "You will not use Facebook if you are under 13."
No, an 11 year old should not have a Facebook account. You must be at least 13 years old to register for an account on Facebook.
According to the Facebook Privacy Policy page:
"No information from children under age 13. If you are under age 13, please do not attempt to register for Facebook or provide any personal information about yourself to us. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible."
This is due to the US Federal Trade Commission's Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) which basically says that any web site operator collecting personal information from children under the age of 13 must have verifiable parental permission. Some web sites, such as Facebook, have chosen to disallow underage children from using their services due to all that is involved in gaining that parental permission plus the fact that their web site is not directed at children under the age of 13.

It is more likely that you will get into trouble if you are younger, or not careful with your personal information.
No, an 11 year old should not have a Facebook account because it is against Facebook's Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and is also against the US Federal Trade Commission's Children's Online Privacy Protection Act.
WELL SOMETIMES ITS SAFE AND SOMETIMES ITS NOT SAFE IT DEPENDS ON HOW MATURE, RESPONSIBLE AND CAUTIOUS YOUR CHILD IS.
If you are considering your 11 year old getting a Facebook here's some tips and some rules you can make if you still haven't made up your mind fully:
Tips/Rules:
Remember when your deciding sometimes its safe and sometimes it is not safe. It all depends on your child's responsibility, maturity, and how cautious they are. Your the parents and you make the decisions, so sit down with your child and talk about it then sit down just with the 2 parents and then make the decision.
possibly. Its a question depending on responsibility. Mabey if their accompinied by an adult or if you trust them.
Of course! But the parents have to approve, first! Just put that you are older when you are first registering. You don't have to show the age on your profile. Hope this helps!
well. it kinda depends because anyone could have a facebook account. it depends on what the kid is doing on it.Facebook suggests at least 13 years of age to sign up.
The actual age limit says 13 years, but there are many people younger than that on Facebook.
You need to be 13 or older
A 12 year old should have super vision by an adult while using facebook.
yea you can have a facebook at the age of 12 but under 12 no
It depends on the girl. Most 12-year-olds are responsible enough to have a Facebook account, but some aren't. It should be up to the girl's parents to decide whether she should have one or not.
im not sure how many 8-12 year olds have facebooks but im not 12 and i have one. parents r starting to lower the age their children have to be to get a facebook. on facebook however, u have to 13.
Coming from a mothers point of view with a 12 year old son i don't think he should have both. I would make it either the facebook or the email. Personally I would chose the face book so i can monitor him with my facebook. If you are really worried about his account take his password and check his profile every so often.
No, the minimum age for a Facebook account is 13. It is illegal to have a Facebook account if you are under 13.* * *You must be at least 13 years old to register for an account on Facebook.According to the Facebook Privacy Policy page:"No information from children under age 13. myspace: 13 Facebook: 13 with supervision, 14 unsupervised Twitter: 12 up
The number of that is decreasing since Facebook Inc. is trying to ban those accounts.
Facebook is a site wherein we can interact with each other socially. As a 12-year old citizen, nothing is wrong to do it. But what makes it bad is when it is already out of control, what I mean is that when a 12-year old is already isolating himself just facing the computer doing facebook most of her/his time and nothing more, that's the danger. As a motherly advise, it's better to giude our 12 year-old before letting them into this kind of activity.
A youtube account? 13, same as Facebook. But about 25% of all youtube members lied to the system and are 12 and under.
Change the birth year so that you are of legal age...
most people are 11-12 years old when they get facebook
