AnswerYes you can. It was done at the Mc Donald's I worked at in Florida. Usually you sign a statement when hired in stating you will not steal and such. Stealing is a crime....being at a job does not forfeit the law.

In South African context that is the sole decision of the Employer, in practice after or before you are found guilty of theft (gross misconduct) at the disciplinary hearing the employer may open a case of theft with the police against you.

And having opened the case against you that does not preclude the employer to proceed with a disciplinary hearing against and the outcome of the court does not render the company's decision null and void.

Two seperate issues, if they file a police report about ther theft its up to the prosecutor to decied to proceed with a court action. The employer can take whatever action they wish, within any union contract ageements or processes.

Absolutely, you can be fired from a job if charged with theft from that company.

Also, many states have a will to work law which allows the employer or employee to terminate employment for any reason.

Of course you can. It doesn't make any difference who you steal it from. It would be charged as either some type of theft under the Larceny statute, or perhaps Embezzlement.

You may get fired if you get caught and you will also get that recorded in your personnel records. If you do get fired, you deserve to be fired.
