Sometimes. Certain pokemon can breed with others, but it's all based on their egg group, which I don't know all that much about. However, provided you are using two pokemon with corresponding egg groups (even if they are not the same species), you will always get the first evolution of what the female pokemon was.
If you are breeding a pokemon with a ditto, you will always get the first evolution of the non-ditto pokemon.

∙ 9y agoNo, Blastoise cannot breed with any Pokémon and the result will be an egg that will hatch into a Squirtle however a male Blastoise would be able to breed with a Ditto and it would result into a Squirtle Egg. A female Blastoise can also breed with Ditto but it can also breed with Pokémon that are in its Monster and Water 1 egg groups. Pokémon that are in the Monster group would include ones such as Cubone, Kangaskhan, Lickitung, Aron, Larvitar, Snorlax, Shieldon, Cranidos, Amaura and Bergmite. Pokémon that are in the Water 1 group would include Poliwag, Clamperl, Mantine, Froakie, Tympole, Psyduck, Squirtle, Lapras, Horsea, Slowpoke, Seel, Kabuto, Omanyte, Dratini and Totodile.
