Can you breed a hamster and a guinea pig?
No, I wouldn't do that.
No you cannot.
it is depending on the breed of the hamster or guinea pig, most guinea pigs live to about 5yrs. while some breeds of hamsters live to 5yrs. or less.
No, Hamsters and Guinea pigs are two different species and therefore can not breed.
Yes. A guinea pig is less territorial than a hamster. Never put a hamster with a guinea pig as surprisingly the hamster will kill the guinea pig as they will not share unless they are breeding.
No, it is impossible for a female hamster and a male guinea pig to breed. That would be cross-breeding and you can cross-bread two different species.
you shoudl not put a hamster and a guinea pig in the same cage no matter what.
if you ever seen a hamster a baby guinea pig is about the size of a hamster.
a guinea pig.
You can't breed it if there is not another animal for it to breed with.
no it can't because a hamster is a different thing and the guinea pig is would injure it.
A guinea pig.
no you need a hamster cage because the bars on the guinea pig cage are to big and the hamster can slip through
No,NEVER,EVER give a guinea pig hamster food.Hamster food contains nuts, which are fine for the hamster but will almost certainly choke your guinea pig. Also hamster food contains corn which is way too fattening for guinea pigs. And lastly a guinea pig needs a lot of vitamin C which guinea pig food has plenty of while hamster food doesn't have nearly enough, plus hamster food has too much protein for guinea pigs.
More like vise versa. Don't even think about putting a hamster and guinea pig together. Not a good idea! The guinea pig would most likely try to hurt the hamster.
yes, a guinea pig can breed by then.
Technically yes cause A hamsters a rodent and so is a guinea pig. But A guinea pig is a lot larger then a hamster but if you had a guinea pig and a hamster I suggest you not to put them together.
The most common breed of guinea pig is the peruvian guinea pig
guinea pigs can never eat anything but guinea pig food. hamster food does not have the right nutrients
Most likely a guinea pig.
it depends what type of guinea pig you have
A guinea pig may cost a little more than a hamster.
a hamster and a guinea pig are same standards play better and thing in my opinion a hamster is a better one to play with depending on your age
a teddy bear guinea pig.
Well I thought a hamster was a darwf hamster . I have a guniea pig do not know.
Other than the hamster resembling a miniature guinea pig, they have nothing in common. A hamster is a rodent whose native habitat is a desert and the guinea pig is not a rodent. Hamsters are able to hold food in their two front paws, but guinea pigs can't do this. Hamsters actually have more individual toes than guinea pigs do. You have to periodically trim guinea pig nails, whereas you do not have to do… Read More
Guinea pig because they excrete more and larger wastes.
No it isn't ok. Guinea PIg food is made for Guinea Pigs. Your Cavy will get sick if they do eat hamser food.
Guinea pig, hamsters will get scared and will die of shock.
Guinea pigs is a lot bigger than hamsters. A hamster is about the length of one baseball while an adult guinea pig is about the size of three baseballs. In fact, if you place food in front of a grown guinea pig, it can stretch itself to the length of a foot with ease. A hamster wouldn't stretch to that length, not even when forced.
from the research ive done, I dont think its the smartest idea to have a Guinea Pig and a Hamster together. Some of my reasons are: 1) A Guinea Pig's cage has long bars, unlike a hamster's cage. A hamster would easily squeeze out the Guinea Pig cage's bars (i know from experience). And a hamster cage isnt quite suitable for a Guinea Pig, mostly because a Guinea Pig gets much bigger then a hamster… Read More
I would not suggest it, the guinea pig may try to eat the hamster.
I am 10 and own a Guinea pig. I would say a guinea pig because they are mor active and hamster is nocturnel. Guinea pigs whistle when they want attention and are better being handeled then a hamster. GPs love to cuddle! They grow very affectionate of their owners. so overall, I would say a guinea pig. P.S. clean their cage 2 a week
Well I have 2 hamsters and 3 guinea pigs and well if you rather a little little pet try a hamster if you rather a little pet try a guinea pig but there are differences between them
Depends on the size of the guinea pig and it's breed.
Your guinea pig can breed after it is 2 weeks old. But you should wait until their done breast feeding.
Yes, guinea pigs have delicate spines, which aren't as flexible as hamster spines. If you put a guinea pig in a hamster ball then you can seriously harm their back. Even the ones that say suitable for guinea pigs shouldn't be used.
a small pet similar to hamster
no because your hamster wether it is a girl or boy will hurt you guninea pig.
I would say hamster, but its really you choice!
A hamster tbh :D x
They are a breed of Guinea pig.
Obviously you need another to breed so put up posters asking for what you need. Maybe put an add in your local paper.
Hamsters and guinea pigs can see, but not very well.
Answer NO, HAMSTERS AND GUINEA ARE NOT GOOD COUPLES TOGETHER
A guinea pig is about five times the hamsters size
GUINEA PIG IS BETTER they are smarter, live longer, more affectionate BUT hamsters are not as expensive as a cavy
i had a guinea pig and it was easy to take care of and it was a great pet
there is no actual breed of guinea pig which is the most heavy, but it depends on how much food it has.
