If you aren't bending over and washing your hair under the shower there is no reason you can't wash your hair. Here is a little tip I always use ... when you are blow-drying your hair set it on low and let the warm air run into each ear. This helps dry out any water you may get in the ear canal. Rinse your mouth out several times a day with luke warm water and salt (toughens the gums) and I not only normally brush my teeth, but swish salted water around my gums to strengthen my gums. My dentist asked me how it was possible I had gums like a 20 year old (I'm almost 65 years old) and I told him. He was amazed and told me he was going to tell his other patients.

Definitely brush your teeth. The last thing you want is bacteria in an open wound. Do not gargle with mouthwash or hydrogen peroxide! But do brush gums, tongue and remaining teeth, being careful to avoid brushing the wound directly.

Yes. Please do. You can take a shower or bath. What you have to watch for is that when you rinse your mouth out you do not swish the water around the wound sites and do not create a suction. A suction will not let the opening heal and it will hurt like crazy. So feel free to shower away. Everyone will appreciate you more for it.

You can brush your teeth the night of surgery but rinse gently. The day after surgery you should begin rinsing at least 5-6 times a day especially after eating with a cup of warm water mixed with a teaspoon of salt. Visit wisdomteethsydney.com.au/
