In order to change the rear seal, for an 85 model 350, you would first have to remove the oil pan. I think the determining factor would be any crossmembers on that particular truck. If you can get the oil pan off, you would have to use a part (should be able to get one at the auto parts store) to "pluck" the seal out. It is very tedious, and time consuming. You would screw the tool into the seal, and slowly pull it out one half at a time, like a corkscrew in a wine bottle. once removed, put one half back in, and slowly work it around the crankshaft. leave about 1/4" sticking above theplane of the bearing. sometimes you will have to turn the crank slowly to drag the first half of the seal around to position. good luck
