Yes, you can paint leather with acrylic paint. Be sure that the acrylic paint states that it is suitable for leather and fabric. If the leather surface is already dyed you will need to clean it well then use an ultra fine sandpaper before painting. If you are using more than one color, paint from light to dark so that you can cover over your mistakes if you paint outside your design lines. Be sure to layer thin even coats and allow 1 to 2 hours between coats. Usually two coats are enough. Dry overnight then you may use a water repellent top coat to protect your painted surface.

Best not to. Leather finishes are designed in many cases with pigments and lacquers that dont allow other finishes to adhere to them properly. You may ruin the sofa. Probably best just to buy a new sofa in any event. You will find bargains at www.english-sofas.co.uk www.premiumsofas.co.uk regards, Sam

Leather is a sturdy, durable material that can be painted to create a unique piece of art. Start by cleaning the surface of the leather with a cloth and a mild soap. Make sure the leather is completely dry before starting to paint.

To paint leather, start by applying a thin layer of paint to the surface. Use a brush to apply the paint in a circular pattern, letting it dry for a few minutes before applying another layer. You can use different colors to create a unique look for your painting. Let the paint dry completely before finishing by adding a final layer of wax to the surface.

I personally wouldn't reccommend it... paint and leather just don't seem like they would mix very well.
