In France they started out with gas cooled natural uranium reactors similar to the UK Magnox design but these are now obsolete and all shutdown. The designs since then have all been of the PWR type, and have gradually evolved into the latest Areva design which it looks will be built in the UK. Nuclear generation is now by far the largest component in French electricity, at about 75 percent. In the US all operating stations use either PWR or BWR designs, there are 104 total operating reactors giving about 20 percent of US electricity. Thus there seems much more scope for increasing nuclear in the US than in France, which would seem to have reached nuclear saturation, though they may have scope to export more to neighbouring countries.

To mostly compare the energy processing organelle, you can compare using size.

Nuclear power is produced by controlled nuclear reactions. France derives over 75% of its electricity from nuclear energy. France has 59 nuclear reactors operated by Electricite de France.
Nuclear power.
Fission is when two particles are split to make energy while fusion combines to particles. The result of fission is usually used up radioactive material while fusion results in helium. Fusion makes more energy than fission

France uses the most nuclear energy in the world with the United States of America in second.
France has a limited supply of coal and no oil or natural gas therrfor nuclear is their best option
Nuclear energy vastly overshadows the energy from chemical and mechanical energy, because nuclear energy is based on the release of binding energy, which lies at the core of everything. It is the Strong Atomic Force.
