Yes, you can but it wont do anything. To connect to the internet you will need a modem with an assigned IP. To connect your 360 to your computer, for file sharing, you will need a router. Daveyboysim says, Actually you can do this in order to get your Xbox 360 online without a wireless router - you just need to go into network connections in either XP or Vista and, by right clicking on the appropriate connection, selecting 'Properties' and then clicking into the 'sharing' tab, you will see a tick box which says "allow other network user to connect through this computer's internet connection". Tick this and your Xbox 360 will be able to share your computer's connection - even if it is a wireless laptop.
The Ethernet cable should generally not be plugged into your computer, but rather directly into an Ethernet router.
maybe one of my friends said they did .so maybe
eweasd
you plug it in at the back of the ps3
Connecting a Linksys Wireless Router to a modem will allow computer users to achieve a wireless Internet connection. Plug the blue Ethernet cable into the port labeled, "Ethernet", on the back of the modem. Plug the other end of the blue cable into the port labeled, "Internet", on the router. Plug a second Ethernet cable into the port labeled, "1", on the back of the router, and plug the other end into the back of the computer.
You do not connect the PS3 ethernet cable to the computer. Just as you connect an ethernet cable to your PS3 to allow it to go online your computer may also have a spot to connect the ethernet cable to allow it to go online. The way the completed system will be set up is that ethernet cables are connected to a router for both the computer and the PS3 and the router is connected to the modem to allow online access to both your computer and the PS3. If you do not have a router you will need to purchase one and until then if you have a computer with online access the computer could be connected directly to the modem which you can unplug and plug in the PS3 to the modem with an ethernet cable. Then you go to network setting on the PS3 and complete the internet connection. In order to use your computer again online you need to unplug the PS3 and Plug the computer back in.
You don't use a USB CABLE. You use an ethernet cable from the back of your computer and plug it in the back of your XBOX360 to have XBOX LIVE. :)
you plug the ethernet cable in the back of the xbox and then you hook it up to the computer modem.
you plug in a ethernet cable to your router and then to your computer
plug an ethernet cable into the back
yes you can plug a ethernet cable into a laptop!
Purchase an ethernet cable (I prefer a cat 6 but cat 5 will work). Next you need an internet connection and it has a monthly fee.. If you have a computer hooked up to the internet you have an internet connection. Plug the ethernet cable into the back of the PS3 and run the ethernet cable to your cable modem. Unplug your computer and plug in the PS3. If you want to keep both always wired then you need to purchase a router. Then you plug the modem into the router's in spot and both the PS3 and Computer into the router. If you only have dial up for your computer I have no Ideal if a connector is possible.
The "Ethernet Port" Obviously is used for the Ethernet cable which often connects computers to a router. A router is a device that gets the Internet or from the phone/Internet port and routes it to your computer routers are required for ADSL and ADSL2+ to work. Oftener more than one computer is connected to the router. But this setup may be different for "Cable Internet because i have never had cable.
In the ethernet port in the back of the ps3. You need an "ethernet cord" though. Not internet cord.
You plug an ethernet cable into the back of the PS3 into what looks like a large phone jack
