I would say yes and no depending on your player. Any newer MP3 player should be fine. Unfortunately, some MP3 players will not accept certain formats. I have about 15 gigs of music on my PS3 and and when i went to copy songs over for my sister, some songs would not work so the MP3 player (Creative Zen 2 gig) would just skip to the next song. These songs were the kind listed as AAC. Anything listed as MP3 worked fine and all you had to do was go to the music and copy.
i hope this helped ^^
