No. You need to contact your insurance company. they are not all the same.

Most insurance companies will give you a short grace period in which to notify them of a vehicle change such as a trade in situation.

If it's an additional vehicle you have acquired, there would be no coverage until you have contacted your insurance company.

Will you get charged for switching your insurance over from your previous car to your new car?

Most insurance companies do not charge you to switch vehicles, but the rates on the new vehicle will be different based on the year/make/model of the vehicle and what coverages you add to the vehicle.

Does your insurance cover you to drive a car that has no insurance?

Your personal auto insurance will be secondary to the insurance of the vehicle that you are driving (assuming you do not own it and it is not a business vehicle). If you get involved in a car accident while you are operating a vehicle that is -not- yours, then the insurance of that vehicle has to pay first, and if that insurance is not enough (or is not there) then your insurance will kick in. Notice that if you get pulled over by police they will ask you to show proof of insurance on the vehicle (not your insurance.) The law requires all vehicles to be insured, not individuals.

Can your employer ask for your vehicle insurance to drive their vehicle?

Your personal auto coverage will not cover their vehicles. What they are probably asking for is to make sure you have coverage in case you drive your vehicle on errands or such for the company. If you go to the post office to get the company mail your personal auto insurance will be the primary insurance and then if they have an endorsement to their insurance called "hired and non-owned auto" it will provide secondary coverage over and above your coverage to protect them in case of an accident. Their coverage insists that you as the employee have primary insurance on your vehicle. Also note that the company insurance will not pay for damage to your vehicle.

Will insurance total a 2003 Toyota Tacoma if the frame is bent but there is no cosmetic damage?

How can you bend the frame without cosmetic damage? Did you run over something? Depending on your insurance coverages, if a vehicle has a bent frame and is no longer safe to drive, then an insurance compamy would usually total out a vehicle. Otherwise, they can pay to repair the vehicle.

What are the benefits of switching to Tesco Holiday Insurance?

Is it legal for a resident of the same household to drive an insured vehicle if they are not specifically covered under that policy?

You can drive an insured vehicle if you're not on the policy because when the police pull you over they are looking to see if you have insurance on the car. But to answer the question...NO, it's not legal to drive the insured vehicle if your not on the policy. As always, check with your insurance agent, but anyone driving the auto with the policy owner's permission should be covered. However, ALL licensed drivers residing in the household are supposed to be listed on the policy.

Is it possible for an 18 year old who has held a full UK drivers license to get insurance that covers them to drive somebody else's vehicle?

Hi, I'm 18 and with Quinn insurance, this covers me to drive someone elses vehicle on a third party basis (I requested this over the phone so doubt if it is standard). However the premiums are very steep for this small privilege, my first year of insurance on my little 1.4L car was over £3,500. With 1 year's no claims it has gone down to £2000, but still comparaitively very expensive. .
