yes you can no problem i have had to drive some of my older vehicles home on the front axel many times just make sure that there is no shaft left to flop around between the trans and rear end it should be removed from the truck befor you atempt to drive LIKE A ROCK that is unless you truck hase a slip joint in the back of the trans going to the rear if it does then dont do it but if it has a fixed yoke your OK like i said just remove the shaft

It's the center bearing in the driveshaft which powers the AWD . The bearing cannot be replaced so a complete driveshaft is required. To confirm, remove the driveshaft and drive and listen for the noise. I had the same problem on my 2003 at about 70K miles. I met with the local service manager and he was able to get Honda to pay for the new shaft, about $1200. Good Luck.
