Creating the Perfect Fresh Green Bean Recipe?

If you tend to cook with canned or frozen green beans, you might be unsure of how to come up with a great fresh green bean recipe. Luckily, these vegetables are tasty when prepared in all sorts of ways, and you can use your personal tastes and imagination to come up with a recipe that your entire family will enjoy. Consider Different Cooking Methods There are lots of different ways to prepare fresh green beans. You can boil them in the traditional manner, or you can try steaming or pan-frying them. Start with a Base for Flavor There are plenty of ways to add lots of flavor to your green beans. You can simmer them with a piece of pork for a nice, smoky flavor, or you can try boiling them in chicken or beef broth for a subtle yet delicious taste. Season Them to Taste Along with boiling or simmering your green beans with something that will add a touch of flavor, don't forget to add plenty of seasonings. Salt and pepper are an integral part of most fresh green bean recipes that you see, but you can skip them if you want. You can also try things like chili powder, cayenne pepper, fresh herbs and more for a unique taste that is just right for your family. Don't Be Afraid to Make Them Sweet Although you might generally think of savory flavors when you think of green beans, they can be quite tasty with sweet flavors as well. Try adding a bit of brown sugar or another sweetener to give your fresh green bean recipe a whole new taste. Make a Sauce Although fresh green beans are delicious on their own, you can dress them up by making a sauce for them. Some people like to use a sauce that is made with fresh lemon juice, or you can make a creamy white sauce. Consider a Casserole Green bean casserole is always a favorite, but you don't have to use the traditional recipe. Instead, consider making up your own green bean casserole recipe for a whole new experience.
