No, you have to be 18 to get one. It is a good idea because as you get older your idea of what a tattoo should be will change. At a young age you could want a smurf, but in your 20's you may think that is silly. Once you get one it stays, so be sure you know what you want.
Some states allow minors to get tattooed if their parent or legal guardian is present. Others require only a signature. Colorado, Connecticut, Idaho, and Louisiana all require consent for minors.
However, in most states tattooing of minors in prohibited regardless of parental consent.
I can't believe that anyone would do that, but I definitely think that you can put some charges against them. I'd suggest that you contact your state about that. Hope this helps!!!
It depends on what state or country you live in.
There was a news item this week about parents being arrested for it.
Not in New York. You have to be 18.
you can't it is illegal for an artist in the state of maine to tattoo a minor. I'll have to drive to a different state or wait till 18. I'd wait, you think you like it now but 12 years from now you'll wish you had the spot open for a really good tattoo and not that feather blowing up into little black birds

If you are 18 or over, Tattoo artists are required to inform the client of the risks for the tattoo procedure, and must obtain the client's consent in writing. If you are under 18, their parent or guardian must sign the consent instead. I got my first one when I was 15.
It's very illegal to tattoo a minor without parental consent. The tattoo artist can be fined and/or put into jail because of it.

No, it is illegal in Michigan to tattoo anyone under the age of 18, regardless of parental consent. If someone performs a tattoo on a minor, they could face legal consequences such as fines or possible imprisonment.
You must be 18 in Alabama. Or you can get parental permission with very specific requirements, in that they have to be in the presence of the tattoo artist when they sign the consent form.

it is legal with parental consent.
Florida law does not stipulate a minimum age if the minor has parental consent. However, most tattoo artist require a person under the age of 15-years to be accompanied by an adult in addition to having the required notarized statement of parental consent.
In most places, individuals under 18 are not legally allowed to get a tattoo without parental consent. It's important to verify local laws and regulations regarding minors and tattoos, and ensure that any tattoo artist or studio adheres to these guidelines. It's advisable to wait until you are of legal age and have carefully considered the decision before getting a tattoo.
You must be 18 to get one without parental consent. If you are 18 or over, you sign a consent form after the artist briefs you on the risks and what they are going to do. If you are under 18, your parent or legal guardian must sign the consent form instead, thereby granting permission. Like any business, artists and/or parlors may refuse minor clients even with parental consent if they choose. Some may have ethical misgivings about tattooing kids, some may restrict tattoo types (no obscene or lewd tattoos to minors), or they may only agree to work around non-intimate body parts.
You have to be 18 in Georgia to legally get a tattoo (if you are under 18 & use a fake ID the artist can lose their liscense & be charged with child abuse). For piercings you have to be 16 and have parental consent.
No, but check with your artist..to make sure that they carry insurance. If they do, ask them if they are allowed to tattoo minors, because most states in the U.S. are NOT by any means authorized to tattoo minors.
