yes.....actually it is a funny story, because I was plugging it into my computer, and I didn't use a safety plug, so when I opened my iPod it said,"I have been infected with herpes"
so the iPod touch can get viruses.
The guy above either had a virus on his PC or had firmware 1.01 or 1.022

∙ 13y agoThere's some debate as to whether an iPod touch can get a virus. Certainly, if the device was unlocked, it is certainly possible, but the likelihood is low if the device was not unlocked and you are only downloading apps from the iTunes store.
If you suspect that your device is not functioning properly, you always have the option of doing a restore back to factory settings. You do that by connecting it to iTunes and clicking Restore on the summary tab. You may not want to do a restore from a backup if you suspect that something you loaded on the device is causing a problem.

∙ 13y agoiOS devices do not come with virus software. Mobile devices almost never get viruses, but apps and software may contain bugs. App updates and software updates usually fix or patch these bugs. If your iPod touch has truly crashed, you can restore your iPod or service it with Apple.

jabbahwocky: what i would do is plug your ipod touch into the synced computer, and open iTunes. go to the tab that says 'summery' and click 'restore'. make sure you DO NOT BACKUP any items on your ipod. this is to make sure that the infected items on your ipod do not get saved.
WARNING: this DELETES all items on your ipod. this includes Photos, videos, music, and apps.
