The child will not get autism from an MMR vaccination. Countries with different vaccination ingredients or different vaccination schedules have increasing rates of autism, too. Research indicates that the MMR vaccination does not cause autism. Videos and descriptions of the children thought to have had autism triggered by the thimerosal-containing MMR vaccines show that they had symptoms of autism prior to the vaccination.

Autism is a genetic condition that, in most cases, is assumed to have an environmental trigger in the womb or early infancy. There is the possibility that a very small portion of the people with autism have the condition triggered by a vaccination, but that number is statistically insignificant, so it is too small to be detected in scientific studies. But there is that possibility with other events, too, such as feeding your baby processed baby food or breastfeeding for less than 2 years or eating peanuts while pregnant or any other events that are not associated with autism.

Hypothetically, if a child were to have autism triggered by a vaccination, it could be because of the ingredients of the vaccination, the child's stress at receiving a vaccination, the body's immune response being triggered, or some other factor involved in the process of getting a vaccination.

Another potential cause for concern is the fact that human DNA is in some of the MMR vaccines. It has not been scientifically proven nor disproven but the dates match up according to what I've read. I would love to know where autism is on the rise and vaccines are not available as someone wrote previously. I wasn't aware of that.

Your cannot develop autism from any of the ingredients of the MMR vaccine.

Previously, some studies (most famously by Andrew Wakefield in 1998) had linked the MMR vaccine to the development of autism in children, but recently these studies have been completely discredited. As well, Wakefield, who published a paper linking the MMR vaccine to autism in The Lancet, a British medical journal, has had his work on the subject discredited and is now barred from practice in the UK.

There is NO link between autism and the MMR vaccine.

No, you cannot get autism off MMR vaccine.

Autism is a neurological difference, it's not something that you can 'get' but something that you are born as - it's genetic and develops as your brain develops within the womb. Vaccines cannot change your genes or how your brain is formed, thus vaccines cannot cause autism. The idea of vaccines causing autism was a medical fraud long since debunked.

No, you cannot 'get' Autism from vaccinations. Autism is a neurological difference - just like we all have different race, eye colour, etc. we have different brains - a person is born Autistic as a result of genetics. Vaccines cannot change our genes or our brains so vaccines cannot make a neurotypical person into an Autistic person. The idea vaccines cause autism is a myth based off a long debunked fraud.

No.

This is a myth and was later dissproven. Autism or Aspergers is something you are born with and will show early on in youth. It is not a disease, it is a disorder.

Does Radha Mitchell have Asperger's Syndrome?

From interviews with her about the movie Mozart and the Whale in which she played a character with Asperger's Syndrome, it would seem very unlikely that she has it. She said that she learned about autism and Asperger's Syndrome when working on the movie. She also explained that "they" (people with autism or Asperger's Syndrome) see the world from a different perspective. She seems to use "they" and "their" for people with autism or Asperger's Syndrome, while using "we" and "us" for people without autism or Asperger's Syndrome, so I would assume that she does not have it.

How much more common is Asperger's Syndrome than autism?

Asperger's Syndrome does not seem to occur more frequently than autism. More cases of autism are diagnosed than cases of Asperger's Syndrome. However, due to differences in diagnostic criteria, the difference in occurrence of autism to Asperger's Syndrome can range from slightly more frequent to over 15 times more frequent.

What is the core difference between autism and aspergers syndrome?

Asperger is different from autism because people with Aspergers are less restricted with behavioral interactions than those with autism. Asperger's is a form of autism, but it is high-functioning and Aspergers is not as severe as actual autism is (Take it from me: I have aspergers and my younger brother has autism)

Asperger Syndrome belongs to which spectrum of disorders?

Asperger's Syndrome is considered to be part of the Autism Spectrum Disorders.

Does autism have a vaccination?

No, there is no vaccination for autism as autism is not a disease, illness, or virus. Autism is a neurological difference, it is how a persons brain forms while they are developing within the womb and once they are born. A person cannot be vaccinated against autism, and no reason to do so anyway.
