Yes, because it’s actually the UV radiation, not the sunlight, that damages your skin. Although the shade offers some protection, it does not block UV rays entirely. That’s why it’s always important to wear sunscreen regardless of whether it’s bright and sunny or cool and cloudy.

So while a leafy tree or shade sail will block some UV rays, others will bounce from those sunny areas to reach your skin!

That’s why you should always use all five sun protection measures – clothing, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses and shade – for the best protection

As a matter of fact, it's UV radiation – not daylight – that harms your skin. Despite the fact that we can't see or feel them, UV beams reflect off surfaces like sand, water, and even grass.

It's UV radiation, not the sunlight that damages your skin. They aren't tangible (meaning can't be felt or seen) but the UV rays bounce off objects which go to your skin. So in short words, yes, you CAN get sunburned in the shade! Hope this helped :)

Yes you can. It is the ultraviolet light (radiation) that causes sunburn. That's why staying too long in a tanning booth can actually fry you to death

Yes, you can get sunburned in the shade! Why? Well, it's actually not the sun that burns you, it's the UV radiation! When your in the shade, the UV rays bounce off an object in the sun which goes to your skin. So yes, you can. That's why it's important to wear sunscreen, in the shade or not! I hope this helped :)!
