Yes because if you have already became a non member after you were a member, you will see all your member clothes/character items in a light gray in your inventory. As soon as you become a member your items will be re-activated, as your igloo will also be exactly as you left it before you lost your membership. You will also keep your member puffles without a membership, and if you took well enough care of them, you would keep them for as long as you wanted.

You will need to buy them again. For postcards, you can't get them again unless penguins send them to you again, sorry. If you let someone in your account, they might not take care of your puffles and delete postcards!

Old Club Penguin? I presume you mean before several updates. This is impossible. Club Penguin isn't like a proper game where updates are optional - Club Penguin's updates are automatically applied directly to the server, and not each individual computer. I was a Beta Penguin and quit around two years ago, purely because of the silly updates and unnecessary extras. All you can do is put up with it, or quit.
