There are some conflicting answers, but I've heard that Tylenol is bad for dogs. A vet told me - I'd say that counts for something. So don't give them something like that (or other human medicines) unless recommended by a vet.
I've heard aspirin is OK, but don't take my word for it. I've posted a link to ASPCA and they have an Animal Poison Control section.
The original answer stated that you could give many drugs to a dog with not much worry of harming the animal. That type of answering is kind of reckless. Of course there are several medicines which should not be given to animals, like dogs. Do not give something to your pet because somebody on the internet said it's ok. Do some real research, call your vet.
Yes, you can. When a pup is sick, you have to treat it just like an infant. Make sure it gets plenty of sleep, and make sure it is eating and drinking. And if your pup gets really sick, Tylenol or even Advil is ok (but make sure it's children's Tylenol or Advil, and give the pup the right amount). The dog's liver can only tolerate so much medicine, so give it liquid medicine only, not pills.
NO! Never give a dog acetaminophen (Tylenol) or ibuprofen (Advil). Their livers cannot tolerate thes drugs. Call your vet. A chewable baby aspirin can be given for pain, but you will need to get the dosage. PLEASE NOTE that aspirin does thin the blood, so it's very important to get a dosage from your veterinarian!
PLEASE DONT DO THAT, at least not without consulting a vet, human drugs are for humans they make doggie drugs as well, let your vet determine that please unless you want the ultimate pain of a sick or dead animal..that could have been avoided I totally agree with the above answer. It's NEVER a good idea to use any of your own medications to treat your pet. Medication is given by weight. If you find the vet meds are too expensive, then ask your vet to give you a prescription and go to your pharmacist and tell them the weight of the dog. I do this all the time.
No, you shouldn't give animals medications meant for humans.
NO! TYLENOL IS TOXIC TO DOGS!!Yes. 7mg per pound of dog (so a 10lb dog can take 70mg of Tylenol, a 35lb dog can take 250mg of Tylenol) etc. http://unixrab.blogspot.com
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!! to them it is poison I don't know, can my child have dogs tylenol?
No! Tylenol is toxic to dogs. They can be given baby aspirin; consult a vet for the proper dosage, which will be based on the dog's weight.
Yes. Ibuprofen. Your common Motrin
Tylenol can be given to animal but remember that a pill is for 50 pounds. If your pet weighs only 25 pounds give half a pill. 12 pounds would be a fourth of a pill.
Any pill can give you a stomachache if you take it on an empty stomach. However, if you already have food in your stomach, or you take the pill with food, you'll be fine. Also, tylenol causes no stomach pain in itself.
Close, but not totally accurate. The name brand is Loritab, it is an analgesic pain reliever but it is not Tylenol free. This particular pill has 500 mg Tylenol. It is 10/500 hydrocodone/acetaminophen. THIS IS A 1O ML HYDROCODONE....ITS CALLED A LORITAB..ALSO KNOWN AS VICADIN WITHOUT THE TYLENOL...GREAT PAIN RELIEVER!!!!!

Tylenol doesnt effect your everyday life Tylenol is a pain pill that people take with lika a headache or back pain etc. but it wont leave a negative effect only positive.
My dog had parvo and we learned to give the dog have a pill of Tylenol and pepto bismal
No. Though the two ingredients make a great combination to combat pain, adding more (acetaminophen) Tylenol will NOT give a "stronger" effect. What may give a "stronger" effect is not eating much before you take the pill, or eating it with hot food/liquid...this simply causes it to dissolve quicker, thus giving one the impression of a "stronger" effect.
Tylenol (acetaminophen) can cause liver damage and death in dogs. Aspirin can cause life-threatening gastric ulcers in dogs. Ibuprofen has a very high incidence of causing gastric ulcers in dogs and can also cause death. If your pet is in pain you MUST call a vet for advice.
no
