Nothing! I've done it and my hamster quite enjoys it. I've worked at some pet stores, and I have owned many hamsters.
Animal crackers are crunchy and they enjoy eating them.
A few foods to not feed a hamster would be pieces of an apple that are close to the core, and iceberg lettuce.
Google some foods hamsters may like.
Personally my two hamsters like when I wrap seeds or food mix in some paper towel into a dumpling shape. It keeps them busy when they rip them open!
Peanut butter, carrots, and cheese are most hamsters favourites.

∙ 14y agoHamsters should only have cereals that are very low sugar. Do not give them cereals designed for children as they will have ample amounts of artificial sweetening. Sugar is bad for hamsters because it rots their teeth, and a veteranary appointment to clean your furry friend creates quite a hole in your wallet.
