Your therapist doesn't need to know you're on your period- male or female. If you go to a licensed professional, it shouldn't be an issue. If you feel that it's necessary sharing that information, it is completely up to you, especially if there unusual circumstances to consider. In all states in the US, draping which involves keeping the breasts and genitals covered is the law and will protect your modesty. In addition, many women will wear an under garment for added security/comfort during that time.
