Yes, but be sure to ask your insurance company if they will cover the procedure if done in combination with child delivery. I've heard some will not. If you are having a c-section delivery this is a good time to have it done. I had my tubal ligation after a c-section birth and there was no more discomfort than a normal c-section. This was my third delivery. My insurance company did pay for it.

∙ 17y agoParticularly if you have a C-section, right after the baby is born is possibly the best time to tie the tubes assuming no other complications. After vaginal birth, generally a separate procedure the day following delivery is performed. Usually they do it through the navel in this case. Insurance companies vary on levels of coverage and you would have to consult your benefits handbook or call your insurance companies customer service number to find out if it is covered and how much you might pay out of pocket.
