Yes you can brush their coat.
Is the golden coat that the golden retrievers have.
golden retrievers are broad shouldered and have a thick coat of fur. they are golden and they love playing. Golden retrievers were made to retrieve.
Yes ... they are the same breed. The only difference is coat color.
No. However, all pure-bred Golden Retrievers have slightly wavy coats ... their coats are neither straight nor curly.
Take it to a groomer
I would check with an experienced Groomer. Some breeds can easily sunburn if shaved. You should brush out the undercoat at least once a day to keep mats from forming and the coat clean.
yesthey shed heavily and even more so during the shedding season so they should be groomed heavily. Go tohttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Golden_Retriever for more information on golden retrieversYes even if they are not puppies.
I have been a dog groomer for over 20 years and have shaved many golden retrievers. There is a risk though of changing their coat, it could grow back thicker and it might not grow back in at all. It is not possible to determine ahead of time and it seems the shorter you shaved double coated dogs, and the more often you shave them the greater the chance of changing the coat. That being said, if your dog swims all the time and has hot spots and problems from staying wet all the time it may be worth the risk to you. I have many clients who are aware of the risk and chose to shave them anyway.
Nothing says they need a cold home. However they do come from Scotland, and have an undercoat or double coat for a water repellent effect. They do well in cool climates but not a must have.
nah uh. dyed? no... It is possible that Fluke was mixed, possibly part Lab. I however think he was a Flat-Coated Retriever. If you look them up, you'd see they look almost exactly like Golden Retrievers with a long wavy coat but they come in darker, different colors such as liver and black. Golden Retrievers have thicker and wavier coats whereas Flat-Coated Retrievers, like the name implies, have flatter and thinner coats.
Labs have a coat that is very easy to groom. I recomend you bathe your dog once week, depending on where you live. After the bath I also recomend that you brush your dog. They shed considerably be more after a bath.
The curry is a hard nubby rubber comb that when rubbed on the coat in a circular motion loosens hair and dirt. The dandy brush is a stiff bristle brush used on the coat to remove mud, dirt and hair. The soft brush is for the face and sensitve areas. It also finishes the coat and makes it shiny.
