Yes you can. However I have not dealt with freezing winters, so this may be a different situation. if the water freezes over there is a distinct chance that your pool will crack as a result of the expansion of thee ice. I have heard that by placing a couple of rows of plastic containers floating on the top of the water this problem can be alleviated.
It serves no purpose to leave the cover on the pool.
You should cove your pool in the winter, therefore, you will not have do deal with a frozen pool and not have to "thaw" it out in the spring. :D

North Dakota.. -40 -50 in the winter and above 100 in the summer
Not all above ground pools have to be disassembled during winter, although it is a good idea to drain them. Water expands when it freezes, and if the water is trapped in a closed container or in a crack, the expansion can break the container or the material surrounding it. Pipes often break, when water inside them freezes.
About six months. The winter solstice is lowest the sun gets above the horizon and the summer is the highest.
Sure, why not. Set it up, cover it and wait until early summer to start working on it. I wouldn't add any water to it yet, since in the early summer you have to add your pool chemicals to it. So why waste the chemicals in the winter.
summer or winter or spring or fall or all of the above
ANSWER
If it is summer at the South Pole, then everywhere in the northern hemisphere is experiencing winter.
Because our elliptical orbit is closest to the sun in summer than in winter, when it is winter we are above the sun and when it's summer and we are below the sun
During summer, the Sun is above the horizon for more hours. Also, it gets higher in the sky.
If you love swimming during the summer, an above ground pool makes an affordable recreational choice. Many families turn above ground pool areas into extravagant entertaining areas with simple construction of a surrounding deck. Above ground pool deck plans can be found in a variety of places. Online, in the library, and in home and garden stores, you can look for do it yourself projects for constructing your own deck and platform area to surround your above ground pool.
