If the site owners have permission to make said shows downloadable, Its A-Okay.
However, if they do not have permission to do so, It is called pirating, and is illegal.

∙ 15y agoIt can be depending upon where you download from. I use a place that is legal and cheap. You won't find movies that are still in theaters but if you are downloading those it is not legal. Try http://www.grabode.com. It really works well for me.

∙ 9y agoNo, it is not illegal. If you are talking about hacking a website and watching TV for free then it is very illegal. Many websites do provide free TV services.
NOTE ON THIS ANSWER: It is incorrect. Project Free TV is illegal because they profit from material that is not theirs, and you can be penalized for utilizing their services, especially if you are caught using it on public Wifi or Wifi provided by an organization (such as a university or shopping mall) that may monitor the devices accessing the web on their Wifi.

∙ 12y agoHave you purchased the TV show online (from a legal website) ? If not: have you uploaded as well as downloaded the series ? If yes: do you live in the U.S. ?
And if you live in the U.S. and have no permission from the people who own the show it MAY be the case that it is illegal.
In other countries (for example the Netherlands), downloading a TV show is legal; uploading is not.
