Sure. If you happen to really love someone in prison and can deal with the fact that have to serve time away from you.... then go for it. and just because you are in prison does not mean you are a bad person. people get wrongly convicted all the time. also people make mistakes too.

∙ 15y agoAbsolutely not. Just make sure you know exactly who you are marrying. Make sure you are both strong in your faith. And be prepared to be punished for what he did by others. If you can handle that, then you have to do what is right for you. Make sure you know what you are getting yourself into. Decide what you are willing to sacrifice to be with him. If that person makes you a better you, than its worth it. Also, God has to be a huge part of your connection. It will be a way for you to learn and grow together and stay connected. Good luck with whatever you decide. Pray about it. You will know what the right thing to do is.

∙ 14y agoYes, you can marry someone who is incarcerated. Different prisons have different rules. My husband is in GreenHaven Correctional Facility and we had to wait one year to get married. After six months of marriage, he put in a request for our "trailer", we had to wait for approval, once approved, you get a house visit (someone comes to your home to see how you live, your lifestyle etc.) from there, you will get a date. Our trailer will be the last week of July 2009 so we waited an entire year before we were given a trailer date, it took a total of two years but we will finally be alone for 2 1/2 days.

∙ 12y agoI wouldn't but the choice is entirely up to you. Not other people on the internet! There are several reasons why you shouldn't but Im not going to get off into that.....
I've known several people who have done the jail dating thing. One is dead, two were hospitalized, all previous inmates are now current inmates.

∙ 7y agoThe rules vary in different states but generally, the first step is to contact the prison chaplain and request a marriage packet if one is available. That packet will contain forms and instructions. It is likely that the inmate as well as the potential spouse will need to contact the chaplain in writing. A marriage license must be obtained.

The inmate should be notified of their release date but otherwise you can call the jail and ask when somebody should be released. This is public information so they should be willing to help you.

If they kill someone while drinking and driving but if they don't and they only injure someone than they should get charged with assault or charged with man slaughter at least. I personally don't think they should go to jail for drinking and driving. I think that they should go to jail for at least 2 years so they learn not to do it again.
