My Windows 7 laptop came with it's 232 GB hard-drive equally split into two partitions. One has Windows on it, the other is the recovery partition. However - the recovery data uses less than 8GB of the space - so I moved the partition with the aid of Ease-US software (see related link).
I didn't need to do extensive back-ups or re-load any software. It moved the partition seamlessly and safely - I now have a 200GB partition for use with Windows 7.

Wipe partition with MiniTool Partition Wizard How to wipe partition? It is not difficult. By employing the "Wipe Partition" function of MiniTool Partition Wizard, we can delete files thoroughly and they will never be recovered. In this window, computer usage information is being shown. If the files that will be deleted are in Partition H:, we need to wipe Partition H:. Select Partition H: and click "Partition" in tool bar. Select "Wipe Partition" in the drop-down list to enter the window of "Wipe Disk or Partition". There are five different wiping styles provided. The top two styles are quick but of low security. The below three are of high security but slow. We select wiping styles according to practical needs. Take "Fill Sectors with Zero" for example. Select it and click "OK". The software starts wiping partition. The main window will be shown after wiping and we can see the effect. In this window, Partition H: has been changed into unformatted partition and its space was run out because H: are filled with new written data and the original data is overwritten. Therefore, the deleted files can not be recovered
