Yup!! You sure can. You can also play Blu-ray movies on the ps3. A blu-ray is a disk that is better quality then a DVD. They can cost over $200. This is one reason why the ps3 is a great deal!! ∙ 12y agoYes, your PS3 can play DVDs. The only ways your PS3 would not be able to play a DVD would be if the DVD is too scratched to be read or your disc reader on your PS3 is broken. Also your PS3 can only play DVDs with movies on them, not with other file types.

∙ 13y agoThe PS3 plays DVD movies Discs, Game discs are software and require the machine they were created for and can not just be put into something that has a disc drive like the Blu-ray disc drive on a PS3.
