Believe it or not, yes!

Some violin makers will produce small numbers of violins specifically for lefties. These are identical to "regular violins", just reversed for a lefty.


There are parts that must switch sides in order for the violin to work properly when strung oppositely. These would include the strings (obviously), bridge, sound post, and bass bar.

Yes ... Basically, in appearance only, the chinrest is placed on the other side, but it must be specially made ... one can't just move it from one side to the other. The strings would also be reversed as are the tuning pegs. Left handed violins are custom made by a Luthier.

They make left-handed flutes, but it is not possible to switch a regular Flute around and still be able to play it.

not usually, but i have seen some people use it the other way than usual. most orchestra teachers or composers will only allow the usual way.
