Can you play games on the Xbox 360 without the disc?
Yes it can but you would need the memory stick first and you need games in it also otherwise whats the use of it :P
yes you could get the disk and download it from the disc or you could buy it from the xbox and download it with out the disk.
NO!! No, But you CAN play xbox games on the xbox 360
Only if the game is downloaded from Xbox Live Game Marketplace. If you install a game with its disc it will play from the hard drive, but the disc is still needed for verification.
Not without extra software - Xbox games can only be played on an Xbox without it. The legality of such Xbox emulation software is questionable, but as long as you own the game and are using the actual game disc and not a copy, you are probably ok.
No, you cannot play GameCube games on the Xbox. Only Xbox games are playable on the Xbox.
I dont think so but with the August 11 update there is a new games on demand feature where you download the games from xbox live
No it can't, the only purpose of copying the games on to it is the loading times in game and such... although... if you go ahead and chip you Xbox (not recommended) you can copy the games and play without disc.
well put the xbox game into the xbox360 disc tray and find out it can only play a certain of 300 games of the xbox !
The only way to play without disk is: purchase the game on Xbox live marketplace, and then have it install in your hard drive and then, ale-hup, play it. If you have already purchase a game disc, awfully you will stick with it permanently unless you decide to buy the game again from xbox live
Read my answer under the question How do you play a PC game without the disc in the disc drive? on this site.
Once you have installed COD modern warfare 2 onto your Xbox 360 Hard Drive can you play the game without the disc?
yes you can play the game without the disc
Yes. You can purchase the disc and no Xbox Live is required.
Yes. By connecting 4 Xbox 360 controllers to your console, you can locally play any of the 4 games(Custom Game, Forge, Campaign, and Matchmaking) on the disc.
more games will work if you get an update disc you can get this on eBay for about a pound it will make alot of games work if you wan't to know which ones will work search xbox 360 update disc it might give you more details.
The question is worded weird, but i think you're asking if the Xbox 360 plays Xbox games. If so, then yes, the 360 can play original Xbox games.
No, no it cannot, it wont read the disc right, now if you slightly modify your xbox you may be able to play PC games, but it would take time, and be a total waste of an xbox.
You cannot, you must have a separate disc for the different console.
You can play any online game without Xbox live.
You can play original Xbox games on the 360 because it is backwards compatible but you cannot play any other console games on the Xbox 360 because it does not support other discs. There would be no point in other discs if you could play one disc on any console.
No but i wish they could. No way and dont try it it can mess up your Xbox 360! My what a shame putting a disc in the PS3 will not it hurt it at all. It will just give a message about the disc. You would think Microsoft would fix the Xbox 360 so it would not mess up so easy Actually you can't but you can play Xbox 360 games on PS3 if… Read More
Answer: Only a select few or original Xbox games are playable on Xbox Live with and Xbox 360. The popular original Xbox games (i.e. Halo 2) are playable. The Xbox must be updated first before it plays any original Xbox game. This will happen when the disc is inserted. When it says "the disc is inserted", it means that you get a disc that has what is called a backward-compatibility update, which is the update… Read More
yes ok how!
It does not matter what game it is a PC and Xbox do not play on the same networks and can not play against each other. Besides while the game appears to have the same name you already know that your Xbox will not play a PC game disc and a PC can not play an Xbox game disc so how can your console play a game that will not work in your machine. Because… Read More
well you could put the music files on your computer and then burn it to a disc and play it on your xbox... however you wouldn't be able to play games. so ya idk sorry
Can you use a external disc drive to play games on your xbox 360 I have a problem with my xbox disc drive and it doesnt read that discs are in the drive i really want to play xbox though Any help?
um i had trouble with mine my mom dropped it and it worked again but dont try it mine was luck
this was microsoft's simple solution to noise and scratched disc problems. by downloading the game to your harddrive, it runs the disc to verify the title and then plays it from your harddrive. this reduces the noise(eliminates the noise of the disc spinning) and prevents most disc scratching(although it can still be scratched at the start)
Yes most games can be played without the update, but if you connect to live you can play all of them.
If you have a hard drive, Yes. Otherwise you cannot play original Xbox games. without a hard drive.
No can you put a Xbox 360 game disc in your PS3 and play it. They are different games and are on different networks and you can not even tell they are playing much less actually play them
No. Xbox LIVE is merely an extension to the XBOX 360 to play online with people globally, etc. You can play games without online play/ Xbox LIVE.
Yes especially if you do it 2 days running.
no. You can play games off his disk but you cant download it unless if you mean the install disk. But you would still need to play disk
Just insert the disc. Not all original xbox games are compatible, so if it runs, you're good. If it is not compatible, a message will come up with an error. See related links for a list of compatible games:
Yes. Requires internet conectivity.
You can play Xbox games on the Xbox 360 but only if the game you are attempting to play is "backward compatible". By attempting to play certain Xbox games on a Xbox 360 console, you will receive this message: "This original Xbox game is not supported on your Xbox 360 console." The following is an excerpt taken from the Xbox Web site Support: "You: Why do I receive the error message: This original Xbox game… Read More
if somebody on one xbox does have xbox live gold then on some games one person can play as guest.other than that no
depends on what you mean. No you cannot play online with other people without xbox live but you can still play the story mode of any game offline and most games have some form of local multiplayer that you could play with people that are with you on your xbox system. If you mean like games that you downloaded off of xbox live then you should be able to play them because you downloaded them… Read More
Installing an Xbox 360 to your HDD improves loading times, removes disc noise and overall creates a smoother gaming experience. However, you still need the disc in the Xbox 360 Console to play the game.
Yes. However, without an HDD, you won't be able to save games (unless you have a memory unit) or play original XBox games. Also, you can't download content from XBox LIVE or create new profiles.
Not unless you purchased the game as a download. If you put a game disc into the PS3 to play it you have to put that disc back into the machine each time you play it.
No. All games, not just PS2 games, can not play against other systems online, just like you can not put the game disc in another system and play it.
No , but it is necessary to play games online or play online games , but you can play most games normally without the internet
Only if you have downloaded it on your Memory Card.
Why doesnt downloading game cds onto the xbox 360 HDD allow you to play without them ie halo 3 assassins creed?
This is for anti-piracy purposes. There are few restrictions on copying data to the hard drive, so to prevent people from just downloading games from the internet and playing them without paying for the games, the Xbox system requires you to insert the game disc as proof of ownership.
I would say no because they can probably recognise the format... plus they are both different hard drives in many ways! Try it! No that is why they are called PS3 games or Xbox 360 games. Games are not interchangeable and an Xbox 360 can not even read the PS3 blu Ray Disc
In short: no. The Xbox 360 has to install an original Xbox emulator program to run the Xbox games. It stores this emulation software on the hard drive.
You can only do campaign, forge and custom games without xbox live. You cannot do any kind of matchmaking on Halo without xbox live.
Put a disc in, turn the controller on, and play.
-.- The regular games... old xbox games (most of them), xbox 360 games.. buy games off the arcade... You can't download any from like a torrent site if that's what you're thinking...
