if you're going to pull the engine, i hope you have a repair manual. if not, you should go to your local advance auto parts store and get a haynes manual for your make and model car. they're about $20 and can save you a bunch of pain and trouble
get a bigger prybar
yes but you need a cyl tranny motor mounts and engine harness. this is not a small job and requiers a lot of cuting and welding
If this is about the 5.7 engine and tranny then read on. The transmission doesn't require service for the first 100,000 miles. Ask your Toyota service manager. It takes a special procedure to service it. That's why you can't find a tranny dip stick for the 5.7 L engine.
two and one for the tranny. three total
yes it will, u have to do a full engine swap and get all the parts for it
There is no dipstick. To check the tranny fluid requires a special procedure.
3 engine mounts, 1 transmission mount. 1 on passenger side to frame, 1 attached to cross member by radiator, 1 next to firewall on same crossmember. the tranny mount is on transmission case, attached to frame on driver's side. You can replace the front and back ones without dropping the engine. The tranny and passenger side mounts will support the engine for that. This is true for the 1986-1993 years, not sure on later yrs, but probable. 3 engine mounts, 1 transmission mount. 1 on passenger side to frame, 1 attached to cross member by radiator, 1 next to firewall on same crossmember. the tranny mount is on transmission case, attached to frame on driver's side. It could be the throw out bearing, but usually if you replace that, you replace the clutch. If the tranny shifts while the clutch is down, and the engine still runs, check the belts. The timing belt may be blown, mine did the same thing. When we replaced the belt, we learned that you only get one from Toyota, the aftermarket ones are just a little bit off and won't quite work. Chances, are, that if it shifts into any gear it is not the tranny. You may also have a blown clutch master/slave cylinder.
i Believe that it is supposed to be 5-10 BTDC Depending on the model of the engine, 3k or 2t series as well as the RPM and tranny.
Could be a, Clutch problem, Transmission problem or an Axle problem.
The reason for the engine to shake and rattle when changing gears could be one of three things. 1. you just don't know how to drive and need to be more smooth when changing gears. 2. Your clutch may not be fully released thus you are just a bad driver. 3. your tranny is shot and a new one is recommended.
no its not............but a LSD can be installed
