No, you cannot officially buy it, unless your'e a millionaire. But don't worry, you can always buy duplicate copies of his work online. They will cost a lot less, and it looks just like the original, though it's not. As a fan of those beautiful pictures and Hans Christian Andersen in general, I would love to have that artwork, too. :)

Yes, he did, actually. This was for Disney, in the 1930's, after they had done Snow White (they had thought of doing the Little Mermaid right after Snow White). However, his original storyboard work was not used until the 80's (though Nielsen's work would be better for the story).
Disney artists had considered an animated film of "The Little Mermaid" in the late 1930s, and illustrator Kay Nielsenprepared a number of striking story sketches in pastels and watercolors. For this film, the artists received inspiration from the Nielsen story sketches that were brought out of the Archives for them to study, and they gave Kay Nielsen a "visual development" credit on the film.
I went to Costume Express and found very cute and beautiful mermaid costumes. I might also look at artwork based off the Disney movie, "The Little Mermaid."
