i do believe you can. but,,,,,,, you have to check the length of the shaft in comparesson to the other. make sure the cam gear is correct. and see if the 1985 distributor is electic module or points , or just electric.
absolutely not the 302 is in the front and the 460 is in the rear
counterclockwise
counterclockwise
The # 1 position on the distributor cap is installed facing to the rear , and slightly towards drivers side of engine
Assuming you have set the engine to #1 TDC and marked the position of the distributor and the position of the rotor, remove the distributor hold-down clamp and it's bolt, then pull the distributor up and out.
counterclockwise
On a 1976 Ford Mustang II The 140 cubic inch four cylinder and the 171 cubic inch V6 engines have a distributor rotor that turns CLOCKWISE ----------------------------------------------------------- The 302 cubic inch V8 rotor turns COUNTERCLOCKWISE ------------------------------------------------------------ * looking from the top
302 it goes toward the back of the engine-----point it at the driver.
1 - 5 - 4 - 2 - 6 - 3 - 7 - 8 Distributor rotates COUNTER CLOCKWISE
yes just have 302 motor mounts installed and proper drive shaft!
1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8 Distributor rotates counterclockwise. This is for a 302 not a 302 HO which has a firing order of 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8
My Chilton repair manual shows ( 5 quarts - U.S. ) WITH FILTER CHANGE for the 302 V8 engine in a 1976 Ford Mustang II
