Can you replace a laptop battery in hibernation mode?
It depends if its plugged in or not. If the battery is currently the laptops only power source then the laptop would just shut off.
It would be best to turn off the laptop first, but it probably wont hurt it. The worst thing that would probably happen is you'd have static electricity which might stop the computer from powering on until you cleared it out. You can do this by holding down the power button with the battery and power cord unplugged for 10 seconds.
Computer hibernation is when your computer go in sleep mode in order to reserve and save on battery
Hibernation mode simply saves your current session to a physical file and turns off your computer (no battery is being used). When you turn on your computer again it will recover the hibernation file and restore everything exactly the way it was when you put it in hibernate. Sleep mode keeps your computer on but puts it in a low power usage state. It still uses battery but not nearly as much. uses: hibernation- turning… Read More
All batteries will drain a small amount, even if they are not being used. However, a substantial battery drain would be due to a problem with the battery or laptop. Make sure that the laptop is indeed off, though. With Vista, clicking the power button in the start menu will not shut down the laptop, but will instead put it into sleep mode. This continues to drain the battery. Some of the lights on the… Read More
It is highly unlikely that a computer enters hibernation mode at random, but it is possible that it does so without express request by the local human user to do so. This could be caused by malicious or malfunctioning software, which can instruct the computer to enter hibernation mode. Malfunctioning hardware, for example a defective keyboard, could also cause this effect, for example if a corresponding key on a laptop's keyboard is activated without the… Read More
If you need to extend the life of your sony laptop while away from its AC adapter, buy a sony large capacity battery. This will increase your battery life by approximately 1.5 times. When you're at home, keep your laptop plugged into the wall with the supplied AC adapter. This will keep your battery charged at 100 percent. When on the road, avoid using multimedia features such as the DVD player and speakers, as these… Read More
A computer in Hibernation mode can not do any activity, including downloading. Hibernation mode saves all information that was in your computer's memory to the hard drive and physically powers off.
There are many instances in which a laptop screen turns black. If the screen turns black after a few minutes, on a consistent basis, your laptop is either running a "blank" screen saver or it is entering some type of power-save mode (i.e. sleep or hibernation).
It will turn off. Because "sleeping" still takes power from the battery, unless the laptop is connected to the power source.
The power saving mode on your computer is called standby mode or hibernation mode.
hi Try turning off your computer at the mains and then restart it hopefully then it should come of hibernation mode
It might be in sleep mode, hibernate, shutdown, or it could be simply out of battery and needs to be plugged in so it can resume.
To turn off safe mode on a Samsung Galaxy Ace just turn off the phone and take out the battery. Replace the battery and turn the phone back on and it should reset it to where it is not on safe mode.
If it's new, set the date/time and then demo mode will cease. If it's older, replace the battery.
No. He go's back into sleep mode (hibernation)
If your laptop will stay on in DOS mode then update your BIOS
When a computer is stuck in power save mode you will usually have to open the computer and remove and replace the battery from the mother board. Once the battery is removed you should be able to re-start the computer normally.
I assume you're using Microsoft Vista on your computer. Also, it depends on your definition of "shut down". Is it "Sleep" mode or really a real actual "Power Off" shutdown? or "Hibernation" mode? The most probable reason is that your computer is set to "Hibernate". This normally kicks in when your computer is running on battery mode (ie, a notebook) when you're away. After x minute (depending on settings), your computer will go into hibernation… Read More

Why doesnt my new MacBook Pro turn on immediately when after it's run out of battery you plug the charger in because I have another that turns on immediately so what gives?
The computer is going into hibernation mode as the battery dies. You can use a preference pane such as SmartSleep (See links below) to control the sleep states or try to ensure that the battery does not become exhausted regularly.
Ants will go into hibernation mode during the cold months of the year. If they are in a climate that is hot all the time, they will never hibernate.
On line Mode - Is when your laptop is connected to the Internet which works Spotify. Offline Mode - Is when your laptop loses connection to the Internet which causes Spotify to not work.`
I am not sure exactly what you mean by this question, but I thing you mean, "When you put your laptop into sleep mode does it shut down?" the answer to the question I just stated would be: When you put your laptop into sleep mode, it does not shut down, it just turns the screen blank to save battery power. To exit out of sleep mode you can either move around your mouse, or… Read More
How do you stop a computer from going into standby mode when the settings are already set to never standby?
You might have a laptop, if it's true just do what you did for both battery and power adapter source of energy.
Power management is used mostly for laptops, that when using battery the laptop usually will go into a power mode that allows it to conserve energy.
My Asus Transformerpad t100 drains battery in sleep mode the same as if it were in use. The product is supposed to drain battery less while in sleep. How do I fix this?
You will need to replace your Asus Transformerpad T100 battery if it continues to drain the same amount as if it was in use. Batteries should drain less, not the same, while in sleep mode.
Really depends on the laptop, I have a Macbook Pro and its great for holding power!! However, I used to have a HP Compaq that had a very short battery life. Check out the facts when your purchasing your laptop, because it should state how long the battery life is. It also depends on the cell type of the laptops actual battery. Some laptops have a 3 cell battery which means you will get at… Read More
After switching the laptop on, press F8 until the menu page appears. Once the page comes up, you can select the option to reboot the laptop in safe mode.
In hibernation, the computer actually turns off, but stores any open programs in it's memory. Hibernation therefore requires free disk space, but over longer periods of time, it saves more power than standby mode. Standby is basically where all of the hardware turns off (screen etc.) but the computer is still running.
That depends on the game and the laptop.
nothing really....it just saves its energy by turning the screen off
By running laptop in adminstration mode and reset the password. By doing this we can easily operate the laptop.
To turn sleep mode off, or awake an computer, a person can usually touch any button or move the mouse. If it is stuck in sleep mode a person can remove the battery for a few seconds, replace it and turn the computer back on.
Which power mode should be used by a laptop so that all the data is saved all the applications the user was working on are left open and there is no power used by the laptop?
Hibernate - is the correct answer hibernate is safe mode for laptop then shutting it down
They have a hibernation mode that makes then live a long time without oxygen. The hibernation mode is under the water and their heart beat slows down and you can barely detect it.Some turtles like the snapping turtle has a special gland that makes the water get oxygen on the lining on the throat.Nuff said
I would not recommend it. I have read about it being bad for your laptop to be on sleep mode all of the time, especially if you carry it with you while it is on sleep mode. Also, your laptop will get slower after a while. I think the traveling with your laptop in sleep mode is less of a problem if you have a Solid State Drive (SSD). Never the less, I would recommend… Read More
Hibernation mode is like a midway point between sleep mode and shutdown. You have to press the power button to turn it back on and can pick up where you left off instead of having to start over. You left your Fujitsu Lifebook S6220 with music CD running overnight next morning your display screen went blank but the laptop is still running How do you get the screen on again Tks?
Sounds to me like your system went into "hibernation mode". Hibernation mode is a power-saving mode that is much like shutting your system down, but not all the way. Usually pressing the power button will awaken the system. If not, pressing & holding the power button for a few seconds will go ahead & shut the system all the way down, then you can press the power button again to power it back on. This… Read More
You wake it up:)
go into add mode & when it says push device button "hit lights off" 6 times on the remote.
quite sure that it dumps all information from RAM to hard drive as the RAM is volitie. same thing as hibernation Suspend mode powers down devices that are not needed in order to safe electricity, e.g. it may switch the monitor, sound card or modem off and turn them back on when you return from suspend mode. Hibernation is when the RAM is written to the hard drive and the computer is completely turned off.
Hibernation. In hibernation, everything in ram is copied to a file on the hard drive and then the system shuts down. Later, when a power button is pressed, the system does not have to go through the slow boot process.
Yes. Though I have not research this information, it is probable that the battery-charging process is not 100% efficient and that there is some loss of energy in the way. This loss would be the net difference of energy consumption between using your laptop on battery power and then recharging it, and using it on AC power. However, in practice this might not reveal true when you consider the probability that your laptop has different… Read More
Maple trees go into a hibernation mode, using very little energy.
when the system is on sleep, it pauses the download. because the sleep mode is for saving resources like power. so all the stuff goes to suspend mode. the system must be in running mode for downloading. For laptop you can change the setting which says that do not put laptop on sleep when lid is closed.
Yes of course :)
What does standby mode on a laptop do Does it suspend applications from doing their thing e.g. would a download application be suspended in standby mode.?
Yes, it suspends everything except internal timers. If you send your laptop in the stand by mode it will suspend your downloads and everything else what is running at that monent.
You dont normally need a flight mode on a laptop but if your computer has one it will be accessible in the Control Panel added SWITCH OFF THE WIFI the radio signal is what interferes with the flight controls
No airplane mode does not save battery lif on an iPod touch. it just disconnects the wi-fi.
