Can you replace an XM radio antenna with any other antenna like a 3ft hard cb antenna?
You can replace an XM radio antenna with a CB antenna, a ham 40-meter mobile
antenna, a cellphone antenna, a GPS antenna, a TV antenna, a wire coat hanger,
a 6 GHz microwave antenna, or a chain of paperclips. However, since none of them
is optimized to operate at the frequencies of XM radio, like the XM antenna is, none
of the others will work as well. Most of them will likely be so inefficient at the satellite
radio frequencies that when you use one of those, you hear nothing at all on your radio.
Buy the replacement antenna from Infiniti if you can afford their inflated price, and follow the directions, it's not that hard. Essentially you undo the ring nut where the antenna goes into the car, turn the radio on so the antenna rises, and it will shove it out of the shaft, along with the ribbed nylon strip that shoves the antenna up and down. To put in the new one, simply thread the nylon strip… Read More
My Subaru Forrester radio was fine then made a static noise. No sound played on the left rear and left front speakers. Right front and right rear play at a whisper. Start car hear static. Any ideas?
Do you only have a radio, or do you have a tape or CD player. If you have one of them, do they work OK? IF so, then you have an antenna problem. Try loosening and cleaning the antenna socket ( if it is a regular stalk antenna). IF it is an "in-glass" antenna, you can try to tighten the connection at the radio (hard to get at) and also check to see if there… Read More
On your 1998 montero sport you replaced the power ant all wiring is correct and the cable is plugged into the stereo but no FM signal do have AM tho anyone got an idea?
Try this... tune in a weak AM station. Have someone "short out" the antenna by touching it while laying a hand on the bodywork sheetmetal. If the station goes away (or "dims out" significantly) then the antenna is good and your radio is likely at fault. If, however, there is NO change when they touch or release the antenna staff then you do NOT have a good/proper antenna connection to the radio (most likely) or… Read More
If you are asking about replacing the exterior antenna on the cougar, than just twist it counter clockwise to unscrew it. I am not sure what size thread the antenna has on it, but it shouldn't be too hard to find out, and most replacement antennas come with a few different bolts to use.
The 1999 and newer Ford / Mercury sedans use a Audio Processor, which is located in the trunk, on the right hand side. My wife has a 2000 Taurus and we found this out the hard way, when her radio stopped picking up radio channels.
No, this is not a wise move to make. The antenna metals are not the same. you have to know that antenna metals are different within all Mhz. 2nd- The connectors are different. CB has a wider coax connector and Uhf us smaller. Radio Range/ distance will be less if you use a short wave antenna known as CB. Best to get a High wave antenna- UHF. 27 Mhz is cb radio and the waves… Read More
Pretty small. 2nd Answer: In the amateur radio bands, some of the lower frequencies have wavelengths of 160 meters. This is not even the lowest frequency that radio can be sent. On the other hand, the higher frequencies may have wavelengths measured in centimeters. (A centimeter is about the width of a sugar cube). 3rd Answer: The answers above are for the length of the radio waves. When a wave is transmitted, it spreads out… Read More
If they are like most other cars, you just pull really hard.
Use your grapling bow tie. It is very hard, but if you keep tring it will lead you to the green house
Yes you can install this CD changer into a 2003 Silverado. It shouldn't be too hard to remove the standard radio and replace it with this.
I replaced the stock radio in my 04 with another stock radio. I'm not sure about the 03, but my 04 has the "anti-theft" system on it...or whatever they call it. I bought a stock radio from a salvage yard and swapped it out. But I had to take it to the dealership and pay them $40 to hook up their computer to it and program the "anti-theft" code into the new radio. The radio… Read More
Find one over internet years ago and did the replacement with success, that means not a hard job. Mast base on trunk is easy to remove. Be sure to open the box, in the trunk, where plastic strip is stored, to dump broken strip and place the replacement. Trim the replacement strip gradually to the proper length by turn radio on and off and measure how it works.
Yes, you can watch TV and it is all pre-recorded especially the news and current affairs. The movies are pre-programed in every channel up to 40 channels or so and same for music channels or radio. If flying near a city you could pick up the radio waves and watch a tv or listen to the radio you would probly need an antenna though which would be hard to do on a plane.
Just warning you, its gonna be expensive. You need to carfully pull the trim around the radio off with a panel removal tool. The clips are very tight, be very very careful. Then just unscrew the 7 mill screws holding it in and unplug the harness and antenna.. It may be complicated finding the right parts. Youll need to get a dash kit, harness, and antenna adapter. The dash kit may be hard to find… Read More
Caterpillars do have antennas but they are very small and hard to see.
How do you install a Sirius radio antenna to a Jeep Wrangler with a hard top made of all plastic so no metal to attach to any ideas Thanks?
i mounted my antenna in the center of the front windsheld in the flat spot by the air intake, run the cord through the firewall (make sure to go through the rubber grommet, its a pain, but if not it will eventualy cut through the antenna) after that figure out were you are going to mount the receiver and take off the center part of the dash, you will have plenty of room to feed… Read More
If the motor is working correctly, you may be able to simply replace the mast. Pull up on the mast while turning on the radio, and keep pulling when the mast has reached it's uppermost point. You may need to disconnect and reconnect the power connector a few times. The mast should come out, along with a toothed, flexible plastic cable. Replace with new one in reverse. If the motor is not working you may… Read More
Yes, Caterpillars to have antennas but they are small and are very hard to see.
Behind the Radio/ Heater Control, center console, mounted against the firewall. And yes, it's extremely difficult to replace. It involves basically tearing the entire dash board apart.
removal of the radio is really simple. First you need to remove the black trim that is in front of the radio and along the dash board. This is a rather long piece, but it just snaps on and off, so with your hands, start above your gages and just pull hard enought to pop the trim away from the dash. Slowly work your way toward the radio. Once this is removed, you will see… Read More
Remove the panel over the fuse box, just pull it out, the same for the identical panel on the P/S. Remove the 2 bolts in a recessed hole in the glove compartment, 1 bolt on either end of the dash where the 2 panels are that you previously removed. Remove a Phillips screw from the defroster vent and the bolts beneath it. Then remove the top dash cover. Once this is off, pull the trim… Read More
On the firewall, passenger side, up very high, under the windshield wiper panel. It's very hard to get to unless you remove the windshield wiper panel. It's near the radio antenna, but on the firewall. Good luck.
the front bumper cover has to be removed. other than that its not that hard.
Follow the next steps: 1.- Remove the plastic cover surrounding the radio.. You can do it either with your bear hands or using the right tools (wich I recommend) do it carefully, if you bend it too hard it will brake. There is no screws you need to remove on that plastic cover. 2.- There are 4 screws (milimetric head) which hold the Radio/CD player attached to the frame. 3.- Unplug the harness, power cord… Read More
remove the scews from around the radio, heat controls and there are 2 just above the ashtray the pannel should pop out now there are 2 10mm bolts the hold the radio in position remove them and the radio will slide out carefull not to pull too hard or the antenna cable can break there is 1 10mm bolt on the back of the radio that hold a ground strap this is a verry important wire… Read More
They have installation kits at walmart and other audio places you can buy they are not that hard to do if you have the right stuff.
Easy to replace. Hard to get to.
open the ash tray. do not remove it. Get your fingers under the panel and pull on it. You can also use a flathead screwdriver to lever it. It may be hard to come off, as it is held down by clips, but once they are released, it should be easy. Remove any connections to the panel (AC, hazard light, etc) and put it aside. You will see four screws holding the radio. Unscrew them… Read More
One version of the 1995 Honda accord ex has a power antenna which is on the left side of the trunk. other versions it is coming off the hood of the drivers side above the window. its hard to explain. i would suggest looking up 1995 Honda Accord EX on Google images. hope i helped! :)
If you mean the Xbox 360, then yes you do. There is the old one antenna version that is hard to find now but is cheaper, and the two antenna model that is about a hundred bucks or so. On the other hand if you mean the newest Xbox 360 Slim, they come with built in wi-fi so they don't need an adaptor to connect to the Internet.
You can be on Radio Disney by doing your best and working hard! Thanks Bye!
If it had a carburetor , it wouldn't be hard to replace - it's fuel injected
You might want to look at a splash guard removal first and then go from there. I know that on a 1997 4Runner you have to remove splash guard and other items just to get to the motor. I know that on the 1997 it does not go straight down. It goes down then makes a hard bend to the middle of the vehicle in the firewall. There is no access from the inside of… Read More
A netbook is just like any other laptop except it is smaller. You can connect it to the internet by using the ethernet port which is referred to as "hard wired" or you can connect it using the wireless adapter that is usually built in. How hard is it to put a aftermarket radio in a 1993 Chev cheyenne Also without replacing the Y pipe how do you replace the oxygen sensor if the pipe threads are gone?
There is a product called helicoil that is used to replace worn threads in metal. You will probably find it at an auto parts store. A muffler shop can replace the nut the O2 sensor screws into. A friend of mine has a shop and does it regularly.
use a flat head screwdriver or a hook tool and pull the surrounding cover off. it only snaps on just be careful not to pull to hard and damage it. then remove the 4 screws, the electrical connector and the antenna lead. not very complicated but just remember not to damage the cover
Radio waves are from "about" 1 Megahertz to 1 Terahertz. There is no hard definition of "radio wave".
There should be clipped on to the dash or either bolted on which is easy just take the screws off and should just clip off. I did it with my 94 which wasn't too hard but don't pull to hard because of the airbag cover will bend and it wont go back..
About 18 months ago, I tried to figure out a way to disable the antenna on our '88 DeVille. Since I could not determine the correct wires inside the car, and was not able to pull radio out of the dash, I went up under the right wheel well and took off the protective shield/cover (pulled screws and clips). After pulling that back (part-way; did not take loosen all the screws/fasteners) I could see the… Read More
How hard would it be to replace oil pan on 1996 Sonoma?
is the ecm on a dodge 2001, 2500 diesel hard to replace??
It is not that hard to replace a fuel pump in the 1970 Ford Torino.
Unless u have a fully enclosed space it might be hard to tell since they will come thru any opening unless it is exactly the right size for the freq. It also depends on the frequency of the wave. Lower freq r less attenuated. Antenna reflectors r often not solid metal, but the holes r tuned.
Gettin the stock radio out of an 80's Caprice is probably the most difficult thing to do. Harder than any other car. I have an 89 Caprice and it took me two hours to get the radio out undamaged. What I did was take the glove box out and reach behind the radio to disconnect rhe radio and push it out. It would also help to take the passenger side kick panel off. You will… Read More

Yes they are located on the side on the antenna on the head. Hard to see because they are the same color as the body gray-blue.
