Can you ruin your engine from bad injectors?
Leaking injectors that are allowing fuel to flow after shutdown, will allow fuel to flow into the cylinder. This fuel will mix with the oil and dilute it's lubricrating ability. This will cause engine wear and will eventually cause serious engine damage.
Biodiesel most certainly does NOT ruin your engine. Most engine manufacturer in the world approves the use of biodiesel in their engines, unless of course your engine is not made to run on diesel fuel. Gasoline engines should not be ran on Biodiesel. Actually, if you don't change out your fuel pump, injectors, and fuel lines to accommodate the much thicker biodiesel fuel, it CAN ruin your engine.
First off, it is a myth that sugar will ruin an engine. Sugar will not dissolve in gasoline. It may clog the fuel filter or possibly the injectors, but it will not ruin your engine. If very little sugar was poured into the tank, then just change the filter maybe a few times and drive on. If lots of sugar was added, you may need to remove the tank and flush it out, replace the…
GM throttle body injectors can be visually seen while operating. Remove the air cleaner assembly to expose the injectors. With the engine runningat an idle, they should have a nice umbrella shaped spray of fuel coming out. If one is dripping instead of spraying, it is probably bad. If one is dry, try swapping connectors with the other to see if the condition stays the same or moves over to the other injector.
If you have gas in your oil pan, then you probaby have gas in your oil. if you have gas in your oil, then you either have bad piston rings, or a bad carburetor (or injectors if the engine is newer). The way to check if you have bad piston rings is to see if you're blowing blue smoke out of your exhaust.
What is wrong with your 1990 Chevy Celebrity if it will start but not stay on and its not the fuel pump or ignition switch?
You start the engine and it runs for a second or two, then dies. Check the fuel injectors, it only takes 2 or 3 injectors bad and it will do that. If that is not the problem write back with a little more detail and I will try a new approach. Please indicate which engine your car has if you write back. THE CAR IS A V6 FI 3.1
Are you kidding me? Can water ruin it? Yes, can sugar water ruin it? Yes, it will go into the engine, and if it gets shocked, it won't do anything, and flood the engine. If you accidentally spilled it in your engine, call a repair man to come to your house. DO NOT DRIVE IT. If you do, the complications will get worse. -A kid who knows what he is doing
