Not without converting the system to R-134a and replacing the compressor oil.

How do I put freon in a 2002 Cadillac deville

When you are replacing a compressor. Chances are that the compressor's internal motor had a burnout when this happens the there is a chemical reaction that makes everything very acidic this in-turn contaminates the refrigerant as well. The old refrigerant would be reclaimed and sent to a a reclamation center where it would be incinerated under the guidelines by the Dept of EPA .

1 hr maybe. it's like replacing an alt but you will lose some freon & have to pay for a charge.

This is normal it does it to cycle the freon

Disconnect the battery, then connect the freon so that as much as possible will go in, then re-connect the battery and start the car with the ac on high until you get the proper amount of freon.

The belt has been squaling for the last 2 days. This morning the compressor pulley locked down and ruined the belt. The belt started smoking. It was blowing hot air and I am sure needed freon before this. I took off the serpentine belt and tried to turn the pulley on the compressor. It is locked down tight. Was there a safety feature on these compressors when they got low on freon, to lock down like this and not turn to prevent burning them up? Would refilling the system with 134A kick it back on?? I did notice the 10 amp fuse blew as well, replaced it and nothing changed. Or is it time for a new compressor?

Purchase a Freon recharge kit. Connects the Freon hoses to the ports on the air conditioner compressor. Release the Freon into the compressor.

The compressor wont turn if the freon levels are too low! It has a cutoff so if the freon all escapes the system the compressor wont be damaged.

If you are talking about removing the freon in the a/c system then you will need a freon reclaimer.............

An AC compressor compresses the freon and circulates the freon through the system. An air ride compressor pumps compressed air into air bags to level the vehicle and/or alter the handling of the vehicle.

yes there is a seal on the front of compressor that can go bad and leak freon.

You don't, this vehicle has (ATC) automatic temperature control and by doing this you will burn up either the controller or the head assembly......

.You can remove the air conditioner compressor, from your Oldsmobile automobile, by removing the compressor belt. Remove the air conditioning Freon. Remove the Freon lines. Remove the retaining bolts

It compresses be it air or freon or whatever.

Look to see if the compressor is running when the ac is on. If not, then check the Freon pressure, as the compressor won't run if the Freon is low.

no it has a safeguard to prevent overheating the compressor

the effectiveness of the compressor will be low and the temperature at which the environment is cooled will reduce.

Remove the freon from the system. Disconnect the compressor belt, then remove the lines. Unbolt the compressor and remove it. Install the new compressor, connect the lines and belt. Pull a system vacuum, then fill with new freon.

Excessive freon may cause the compressor to"slug" (Seize)

How much freon does a 1975 Cadillac Eldorado hold?

Connect the Freon bottle to the low pressure port on your air conditioning compressor. Release the Freon into the compressor. The purchase of a Freon recharge kit will make the process quite simple.
