NO! Your Marlin model 30aw(all weather) was chambered in 30-30Win.That is the only cartridge that will fire correctly in your rifle.

Your marlin should hold 5 plus one in the chamber.

Impossable to say without you providing a serial number to your Model 30aw.

I believe that the marlin model 30AW(all weather) stock was a walnut finished birch stock.

All that I can say is that the marlin model 336W/30AW were made during 1983-2007.Most of these were sold thru Wal-Mart.

If your Marlin rifle has between 60%-90% of its original finish remaining, and a good bore. Then the value will be between 160-250 dollars.

I, too, have been trying to find out about the Marlin 30-30 Model 30AW and I discovered that the Model 30AW is the low priced version of the Model 336. (Very disappointing to pay $400 for a gun to find out it is a "low priced version".) Anyway, here is a link to the owners manual I found: http://www.marlinfirearms.com/pdfs/manuals/MFC_Centerfire.pdf It appears to be the same gun that I purchased.

NEW around $500. USED in good shape $300 - 350

this model of rifle was made from 1983-2007,and sold by Wal-Mart only.

prior to the year 2000 the marlin model 30AS was a way for marlin to distinguish that the rifle with the AS was a part of the glenfield line of guns, which were made with a walnut finished birch stock. The same applys to the AW except this also indicated all weather, meaning synthetic stock.

Take the first two numbers of the serial number and subtract that from 2000. For example, 07 from 2000 would make your rifle manufactured in 1993.

I would check with Marlin customer service through their website, check for used parts at gunpartscorp website, or check Brownells website for gun parts.

No. You will have to have a Model 1895

Crosman says that the Marlin is rated at 350 FPS and is accurate up to 33 feet or under

Nope. The .450 is a belted cartridge.

Winchester did not make a Model 30

When in doubt have a qualified gunsmith examine your Marlin model 21 shotgun. It is far cheaper to have it examined, then to loose your eye sight or worse.

Its basically the Wal-Mart version of the Marlins. However there is nothing wrong with the gun at all,the only difference is the wood.Instead of having a Walnut Stock,it is just stained to match Walnut. So to answer your question AW stands for American Walnut stained...

Slide action shotguns with the name CHICAGO ARMS CO were made by the Marlin Fire Arms Company for and were sold by either the Fred Biffar & Co or Sears Roebuck & Co both of Chicago,IL. The gun is the same as Marlin Model 26A. Do not attempt to shoot this gun!!! Marlin has put out a company bulletin advising that these old Marlin slide action shotguns are not safe to shoot.

Marlin recomends shooting Remington shells. I bought that same rifle and there was a coupon inside the box for $5 off your first box of shells from Remington. Remington now owns Marlin, so what else would Marlin recomend shooting?

Assuming it is in good condition to shoot any modern day ammo, yes.

Have it checked out by a competent gun smith.

I have a marlin 55 12 Ga and Im wondering if it shoots 3" and 3 3/4" shells and if steel shots are recommended for the barrel?

Yes. The Marlin model 556 is a bolt action shotgun. It has a detachable magazine which holds two rounds and one round in the pipe for a total of three rounds. It is able to shoot 3 inch ammunition.
