The short answer is: It depends on the strength and amount and type of Opiate you are taking. If you are on Methadone you are in for a rough ride. If you are hooked on Vicodin, or hydrocodone you can start as soon as you feel a bit rough, that being said talk to a doctor or someone who has been in your situation.

No, Methadone will block opiates.

No. Methadone is an opiate blocker. Taking an opiate while on Methadone is a complete waste, and can be dangerous. It can be dangerous because it causes the person to take more and more of the opiate to try to achieve the high that will never come, because Methadone is controlling your receptors. Definitely not recommended. Stick with the Methadone, and remember to ask your doctor about weaning yourself off after taking Methadone for an extended period of time. Methadone is much more difficult to come off "cold turkey" than opiates, if you can believe it. I've been there, and it can be difficult.

No you can't because suboxone attaches to your pain receptors filling in the holes that opiate use has left. So when you take an opiate after a suboxone it is knocked from your pain receptors by the naloxone(pain-blocker) in suboxone.

If you are an actual opiate addict, and you are taking it to prevent physical withdrawal symptoms, it doesn't get you high at all, although it can make you sleepy. That is what I take it for, so I don't know how it feels for someone who just takes it recreationally. But people ask questions about recreational use of Suboxone all the time on this site, so, apparently people do take it recreationally. But, if it does cause a high for recreational users, I can't imagine how it could be a good high, since it is specifically designed not to get you high. Suboxone is made up of buprenorphine (the active ingredient) and naloxone, which is a partial opiate antagonist -- it blocks the opiate receptors in your brain, so you can't get an opiate high.

The drug Subutex is just plain buprenorphine, without the naloxone. Since Subutex lacks the opiate blocker, it is possible to get some sort of high off of it. But again, I can't imagine that it would be a good high, like a heroin or morphine or oxycodone high. But, you know, if you've never used opiates before, then maybe buprenorphine does something to you. But basically, if you've ever done any of the harder opiates, like heroin, morphine, and oxy, then a drug like buprenorphine really isn't going to do anything to you, except keep you from going into withdrawal.

Does Suboxone help cover up opiates on a drug screen?

Absolutely the contrary will take place in that Suboxone will completely displace the opiates out of your system within one day. This stuff is a miracle drug for those serious about beating their demons with opiates as there will be zero withdrawls on day one.

Will suboxone block opiates in a urine test?

No Suboxone will not block the use of opiates on a drug test. It will still show up, but you won't get the feeling from the opiates. You will however get into trouble if you are being prescribed Suboxone.

How can the suboxone doctors tell the difference between suboxone and other opiates?

Typically Suboxone doctors can give you a urine test that detects multiple types of opiates, usually including Heroin, Oxycodone, Suboxone, and Methadone.

Can i take suboxone 8 hours after taking oxycodone?

That depends on whether you are taking the morphine recreationally (to get high), or if you are taking it for pain. If you are taking it to get high, then no, it won't work. You will have to wait at least 36 hours, but probably more like 48 to 72 hours, until the Suboxone is out of your system, before you can feel the effects of the morphine. If you are taking it for pain, then yes, it should still work as a painkiller, even though it won't get you high.

Will suboxone show up in a Florida probation drug test?

Yes, suboxone is a opiate and will show in a drug screen for opiates. Suboxone is not an opiate. It is for opiate dependency its to help with withdrawal If you are prescribed Suboxone you have nothing to worry about in taking a drug test, I take soboxone an I am on probation, an they do not test for that, I am honest with them an tell them I take suboxone.

How long after taking 16 mgs of suboxone can you feel opiates?

I would say you would need to firstly wait until withdrawal effects have started (if you are addicted to opiates), or you need to wait until the opiate is "out of your system" (if you simply use opiates recreationally and are not addicted). If you take Suboxone whilst under the influence of opiates (ie, heroin, methadone...etc) then you will encounter what's called "precipitated withdrawals". This is particularly nasty, and feels much, much worse than the usual withdrawal symptoms.Although I allude to the opiate being "out of your system" above, that does not necessarily mean it need to be completely out of your bloodstream... to put it simply, you just need to make sure you are no longer under the influence of opiates. For example, if you take heroin on a Monday, it will still be in your system by the Thursday, but you would be ok to take the suboxone on the Tuesday as you wouldn't be drug induced by then. (NB; the previous example will not apply to methadone, which has a much larger half-life and can keep you drug induced for nearly 48hours).Basically just use your judgment - only use the suboxone when you feel sober
