where can I can I buy the fmj double barrel 410 shotgun ? are they still available?
depends on if it still works
I have a circa 1874 W.W. Greener double barrel shotgun. It was made in Birmingham England. It has double hammers with nice engraving. Greener shotguns are still produced today but in limited numbers.
I do not personally, but yes, there is a single shot rifle that can have the rifle barrel replaced with a shotgun barrel.
Parts for an American Gun Company shotgun will only be found as part of another shotgun. Haunt the local gunshows for one that is being parted-out. As for the gauge (not caliber), did you mean "bigger than a 410"? There have been 24, 28, and 32 gauge shotguns made. Of these, only the 28 is still available in the US, but I believe 32 gauge shells may still be commercially loaded in Europe.
There is no way to correctly answer this without knowing which parts are still useable. For instance, good barrels have the most value, in my opinion, and the wood is very easily bought from many sources, so unless excellent is not worth much.
My Crescent "Empire" cost $200 as a shooter. The serial number is 7787. These are not collectable guns, but mass marketed "shooters". Still works fine!
You still haven't told me what type of shotgun it is, but Newport was a Brand Name used by Hibbard, Spencer, Bartlett & Co, Chicago (1882-1962). If it is a double barrel sidelock with outside hammers, it was probably made by Crescent Arms Co, Norwich, CT. A double barrel hammerless boxlock more likely by J Stevens Arms Co, Chicopee Falls, MA. or a single shot exposed hammer by Iver Johnson, Fitchburg, MA. Regardless of the manufacturer, it is worth $75 or less for a single shot or $100-$150 for a double barrel.
The BATFE website will give you the federal answer for barrel length and overall length. Whether a state is more restrictive is something you will have to find out from each state.
Why the **** would you want that!?!?!
Only down to 18 inches, and it must still have an overall length of at least 26 inches.
