I don't have the answer to this question, but I have some advice: Many drugs can be fatal if mixed. I would only accept an answer from a doctor concerning this question. Not without consulting the prescribing physician. Both medications are used to treat depression, combining the two could result in increased side effects and alter the effect the medication has on the condition for which it was prescribed. Thats really between you and the prescribing doctor, they are 2 well used medications. High sucess rate of treating their respective illness, I would suggest if you have cocerns whether they are good together you check it out with your doctor. Tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline [e.g., Elavil], amoxapine [e.g., Asendin], clomipramine [e.g., Anafranil], desipramine [e.g., Norpramin], doxepin [e.g., Sinequan], imipramine [e.g., Tofranil], nortriptyline [e.g., Aventyl], protriptyline [e.g., Vivactil], trimipramine [e.g., Surmontil])?Taking a tricyclic antidepressant together with paroxetine may increase the risk of side effects. Your doctor may need to adjust the dose of either medicine or check blood levels of the tricyclic antidepressant. Also, taking paroxetine with amitriptyline, clomipramine, or imipramine may increase the chance that the serotonin syndrome will develop. You may want to check out things with your doctor, this doesn't mean they can't be taken together. It just means the interaction might be more adverse if they are. You might be required to keep a closer eye on what and how your medication are interaction, and reacting to you while taking them. It's a good idea to talk this over with the prescribing doctor. Elavil might be prescribed (in lower dose) for many other indication than depression. If you use Elavil to prevent migraines, as example, you can take Paxil for a depression. However, like said before, you might experiment higher side effects related to Paxil and Elavil (dry mouth, diziness, sleeping, etc..)
My current medical treatment includes the taking of both Ambien 10mg, Lexapro 20mg once a day (usually I decide to take it at bedtime also) and I take a variety of other medications too, (none that would benifit this explaination). My doctor has not stated that there is any problem with the combination of Ambien and Lexapro, but that does not rule out the possibility that he may be over looking something. I really doubut this very much since I have been with this doctor for over 8 years and trust him very much. I hope this would be helpful to you, but again I am no professional and my experience is as a patient with conditions requiring both medications.
I currently was proscribed both by my doctor. The Paxil was causing bad insomina, so my Dr. has me on Ambien to you as needed.
I can take 20 mg of Paxil with 25mg of Benadryl (half the normal adult dose) pretty often, also due to my Allergies. I suffer from cold urticaria (hives caused by exposure to cool- cold temperature!). Generic is what I keep handy, and it agrees with me, lulling me to sleep. Talk to a doctor and consider your doses and when you will take both. I think p.m. is best time for me. Benadryl is NOT addictive, as I assume some sleeping pills may be. Benadryl is nothing more than diphenhydramine, one ingredient in Tylenol PM, and it is soooo affordable!!! Good luck, and keep your chin up.
You can save money on a prescription.
Shop around at as many pharmacies as possible. Don't forget to include online pharmacies in your search, as they often have the best prices, and you can save a lot of money on a prescription.
In case you can compare Ambien prices online at www.rxoffer[dot]com .
P.S Many online reliable pharmacies will be happy to provide the prescription to anyone who can answer a few simple questions.
6/6/08 I currently take 10mg. Prozac a day and my Dr. has prescribed me Ambien for the last month and have also been given Ambien CR. No side effects other than the Ambien products working less and less as you use it.
Yes you can, cause I take all of those too. :)
You need to ask your doctor about this. Xanax is a downer (anti-anxiety) and Ambien is to help you sleep. You can also ask your pharmacist
No.
You may take Flexeril (cyclobenzaprine), Xanax (alprazolam) and Paxil (paroxetine) together, although they will cause drowsiness when taken together. You should not operate a car or other heavy machinery while under the influence of these substances.
No. Ambien is indicated for insomnia. Xanax is indicated for anxiety.
is it safe to take fioricet with paxil
no,you would feel the hgh of cannibis, methadome. Xanax burns, but the chemical wastes,so i wouldnt.
You can take wellibutrin with ambien.
No, But you can take Tums and Ambien! ;)
Can you take paxil and muscle relaxant together
It's funny you should this, I would get anxiety when I used Nyquil while I was taking paxil. I think you shouldn't use the Nyquil with DXM in it while on paxil
Please ask your question in the form of a question.
Not directly (unless the dose is very high) but ambien can cause people to fall asleep and sleepwalk, and xanax can lower inhibitions. So it's possible that somebody taking both drugs could do something foolish like walking off a cliff or driving.
No ambien is one of the brand names for Zolpidem, a hypnotic used for insomnia whereas fluoxetine is a selective serotonin uptake inhibitor (SSRI) used for depression, bulimia and OCD.
