For a simple case of strep throat, Flagyl would not be the treatment of choice. Consult with your physician to be sure. A throat culture may be required, in order to determine the specific type of throat infection, as well as the best antibiotic to treat with.

Flagyl and azithromycin are very different antibiotics. They don't treat the same infections. You can't replace one with the other.

Can one take flagyl and azthromycin at the same time to get both gram positive and gram negative bacteria.

I am allergic to penicillin
