If you are talking about the ginger nut biscuit, then you will simply need to declare it when you come in through Australian customs. Customs will decide whether you can bring them into the country, or whether they will be confiscated. If you do not declare them, and they are discovered in your luggage or on your person, then you may be subject to prosecution or fines. We do have gingernut biscuits in Australia - they might just be a little different in flavour or texture. If you are referring to ginger nuts - not biscuits - then again, you will simply need to declare them (and any other food you bring in) when you come into the country.

Yes you can, its no problem. But and big but here, you must declare them to quarantine at the airport, so have them handy in your luggage. They usually dont even want to see them when they know its snack, they are after meats and plants, but if you get stopped without declaring you can get into serious trouble

Yes, but only if they are in sealed packets. If the packets are open, possibly you cannot.

Also, you must declare all FOOD items on your arrival card (they give it to you on the aeroplane) into Australia. This includes twiglets and chocolate. If you declare them, by ticking the "yes" box, there will be no problem.

If you do not declare some food items, and customs find them, you will have a big problem, not because of the food, but because you have LIED on your declaration card.

Also, declaring a bit of "safe" food (processed, in packets, no meat or dairy or nuts or honey) will often enable you to bypass the customs inspection queue, and get out of the airport quicker.
