The organ is the colon. The colon is the lower part of digestive tract and it is also called the large intestine because of it's size in diameter.
The only winding organ in the digestive system is the small intestine. It is where digestion finishes. Also, most nutrients are absorbed there. The remaining substance then passes to the large intestine, which absorbs much of the water and the minerals before excreting solid waste.
The digestive organ that is considered the primary organ of digestion is the small intestine but more specifically it is the duodenum of the small intestine. This is the region directly after the stomach and is approximately 25 cm long. The small intestine absorbs nutrients and large intestine absorbs water.
