∙ 10y agoFor US passport holders you do not need a visa to enter the UK for upt to 180 days. More than that, you need to have a visa. Your passport should also be valid atleast 3 months in it.

Your question does not make sense. You need to be a US citizen to have an American passport. If you have a green card and an expired Russian passport, contact a Russian embassy in the US and they should be able to issue you a travel letter or stamp your passport so you may travel back to Russia. But returning to the US is another problem.

No. You need a valid passport to cross borders. Especially into a developed nation like France that is going to have the technology to scan your passport and realise that it has expired. An exeption however will occur if you are travelling from a bordering European nation within the Eurozone e.g. Belgium or Italy or Germany. In that case, your passport won't be checked. Though I am unsure as to the legality of doing that (entering on an expired passport) if you're not a European citizen.
