Add another 256 mb memory card if you have a second slot on the mother board.
IF you have only a single slot, then a new 512 mb memory card will have to replace the present 256 mb card.
Make certain that your PC will allow this memory upgrade - some older machines have a maximum number for how much RAM it can handle.
Unplug the computer pull it away form all the cords and wirer. Lay it on a flat and soft area such as a bed. Use a screw driver and unscrew the one screw on the back to your left. Look in the back inside your system and you see thin green chips take them out and replace them with the higher chips that you bought and close it back up and your done
256mb of ram is absolutely crap and hopeless and 512mb of ram will barely make a difference so if i were you i would go for at least 2gigabytes of ram.
yes, this is possible. as long as you have the upgrade CD that comes with the two 512mb ram cards.
It depends on what type of RAM
256mb - 2g
Ram is memory. That means you have 67MB of ram left for you to use out of your 256MB of memory.
256mb system (XDR) and 256mb video (GDDR3)
If your computer has 256mb ram only, you can add another 256mb ram in it..just go to your nearest computer store and buy another 256mb ram stick. once you have that, open you PC housing and put it in Dimm1 or Dimm 2.
It depends on the model. No model officially supports more than 1 GB of RAM. Only the models that have USB 2.0 ports support 2 GB of RAM (unofficially).
cant see why not
By today's standards 256mb ram is pretty low.
It won't run.
Presumably you are talking about replacing (upgrading) system RAM, as its been a long time since 256mb or 2 gb hard drives were common. That being said, replacing the RAM in your computer will have no effect on the data stored on your computer. Long-term storage of user data is done with the hard disk. System RAM is temporary storage only, and is wiped every time the computer is powered down.
If you're talking about a PC, 256MB for RAM is not very good, no. Unless you're running an old OS and old versions of programs, you won't get much done.
Minimum requirements on the box say 512MB of ram.
